Getting Rave I just ordered my Rave 4-cell combo and can't wait! Damn that's a sweet looking bird!I've flown many helis from tiny nano size electrics to the Bergen Intrepid Gasser.Currently I'm flying a Blade 400 and Compass K3D. The Blade is an ok bird for the money...I got it for a bash around heli, but it does not fly very well...It's pretty unstable and does not track very well at all so I'm getting something I can enjoy flying more and have pride in ownership. It is kinda embarrassing showing up with a Blade 400!I enjoy building/maintenance as much as flying especially on a high quality bird like the Rave. I'm gonna take my time building it and enjoy every moment. Working on these things helps relieve stress and gets my mind off of things that I normally worry about too much.It will still serve its purpose for trying new stuff, cheap easy to get parts and as a back up if I auger in the Rave.The prices on the Rave replacement parts are very good...in line with the competition with the exception of the side frames. I hope they hold up well in a crash.I'm outfitting the Rave with the popular electronics -- DS285MG, 3400/mini-G, TP ESC.I'll post pics and comments during and after the build, flight results, etc. |
