Obama blocks list of visitors to White House
Taking Bush's position, administration denies msnbc.com request for logs

Despite President Barack Obama's pledge to introduce a new era of transparency to Washington, and despite two rulings by a federal judge that the records are public, the Secret Service has denied msnbc.com's request for the names of all White House visitors from Jan. 20 to the present. It also denied a narrower request by the nonpartisan watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, which sought logs of visits by executives of coal companies....

In late January and again in May, the Obama administration had opportunities to change course, when it filed papers in the appeals court, but stuck with the Bush position.
why was it bad under Bush, but OK under Obama?

There goes that old double standard of the left again.

Wonderful. I hope they keep up with that. They are telling all who they are on a regular basis now. Better get your rubber boots on. The BS ground cover is going to get very thick.

You have a link to somewhere where someone backed him for doing this? Who exactly said it was OK??

Your source for the story is one of the favorite targets of the right for being a "liberal media" outlet.

Ask these guys what THEY think about MSNBC.
Freerepubic on MSNBC

And if a "liberal media" outlet is the one that broke the story, whats that tell you?

SCHWING and an epic fail, pal.

And now the new cybersecurity spooks are going to have access to all your emails. Where is the outrage of "domestic surveillance"?

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/17/us/17nsa.html?_r=2&hp

Where are all the screaming, mouth frothing, bed wetting, fanatical liberals when you need them?

Nowhere to be found when their "Dear Leader" is running the show.

No, but I could provide cite after cite where someone who went nutz about it when Bush did it, but show they are suddenly silent now.

That:

1. No matter what the bias of a news agency, the primary goal is to increase circulation by providing news that will incite a group. This is done in politics by aiming for the people who are upset by the party in power.... Good news does not sell papers. Bad news sells. And in particular when it comes to politics, bad news about the party in power sells.

2. Even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in a while.

We gripe about Obama too. We just don't do it with you. All the major news covered it and all the left blogs griped about it so your feigned outrage over the supposed lack of outrage falls flat as yesterdays beer. Nice try though.Repo man's got all day and all night! Lets go get a drink!

Oh, I see... The super secret grip sessions

Yet you were up in arms in public when Bush did it?

Actually on this subject no. I don't recall ever being outraged about Bush not releasing visitor logs to the Whitehouse. Were you publicly outraged about it? I'd like to see that thread.

On another note: it's freakin HOT down here!!! I got here late thursday and hoteled at Fl city after dinner on Calle Ocho. Had to turn right back around as Lowes had the wrong icemaker. Spent the entire day hunting a new one in Miami eventually finding it in Pompano Beach! I95 was a nightmare!! Would have come up empty handed if not for this iPhone. Miami is nice but living in the stix I sure don't miss the traffic.

Good luck with the new job and place, view is spectacular.

Care to defend this action from Obama?

Especially after you said this about Palin:
So much for the promise of transparent government.

Seems Geor, er Sarah Palin refuses to release 1100 emails while she was governor citing. . . wait for it

Executive Privilege!

And if that's not GW enough, her aides are REFUSING TO TESTIFY!
Imagine that!
But it gets even worse, approximately 40 of the emails have been CC'd to T.Palin "The First Dude" who is actually a private citizen and not a state employee in any way shape or form, which blows the executive privilege argument.
It appears from subject lines that they relate to the ex brother in law, political adversaries and fund raisers getting cushy state jobs, all of which fall outside the executive privilege argument too.
The list can be viewed here.
http://www.motherjones.com/washingt...FOIArequest.pdf

Another thing to note is that this has been going on since last June and is in no way related to her nomination and has been reported in the Alaska Daily News.

This is her idea of transparent government?

The only thing thats changed from the Bush admin is the people that read lies to us from the teleprompters
Is this YOUR idea of transparent government?

Not really. Its not the same thing at all.

Now if Obama had been forwarding classified US govt business to his wife or allowing his wife to use federal sources to settle a personal vendetta, you might have something.

But I am certainly flattered that you would scour literally hundreds of my posts looking for that one little nugget. Enjoy your stalking.

Nice try to avoid the questions... BTW, I don't have to look these things up, I remember them.

But its cool, just admit you have a double standard. If a Republican does it, it is not cool... But if Obama does it, then its fine!!!!

Obama forwarded supposedly confidential White House communications to his wife and possibly allowed her to use government resources to settle a personal vendetta?

If that's the case then I truly am outraged!!!!!

For a minute I thought Ozark had been banished to hell, but just to Miami. OZ, I'v been in central Florida all my working life and never have I got used to 90 plus temp combined with 100% humidity. Guess air conditioning has spoiled me. Course Cap & Tax will take care of that.
