I'm part of the flybarless club now Picked up my SK-360 yesterday and installed on my trex 500. It was easy as can be to install and set up. Took it out for a little test flight just now and everything seems perfect. Not much of a flight because I wasn't at a field but so far I'm very happy with it. No wobbles or weirdness. I used the basic 3d file included with the unit. I'll need to add some expo cause it's feels just a little twitchy right now. Definitely faster than my stock 500 was. Ended up using stock head parts for an indirect setup (zero $$$). The mikado conversion kit just showed up but honestly I can't see why I need it or any advantage to it. This is how I set the head up for free!:http://rchelimag.com/pages/howto.php?howto=33&page=1There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness." |

I was actually looking to see if the linkage to the grips was in line with the center of the mainshaft. I was wondering because as I recall the links were no quite long enough........RonTeam MikadoUSA 480XXTreme, 550SX, 600SX, 700XXTreme, 800XXTreme!! |

Yes use the mikado adapters. They are needed to get the rods out farther on the grips for a sraight setup. Chuck |

I was wondering because as I recall the links were no quite long enough The links are not quite in line with the center line of the main shaft. We'll see how it works out but from all the posts I've read lately it seems many people are using this same setup and are happy with it.There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness." |

You will have some phasing issues that will show up in flight.Team MikadoUSA 480XXTreme, 550SX, 600SX, 700XXTreme, 800XXTreme!! |

If that ends up being the case it's hopefully easily solved via the included software which can correct for up to 90 degrees of phasing. If it's a problem, and I haven't read a single post saying it is, I'll just install the mikado kit. There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness." |

The mixing arm setup works very well. Here is an example of what we did. At neutral the link from the arm to the link is 90 degrees...very important if you want a symmetric pitch range. You should use the swash driver to adjust your phase mechanically first so you dont waste swash travel to correct a problem.CBTW, the arms are custom.Xera Motors ProBar Minicopter Thunder Power |

Had a great day of flying my 500 with the sk-360. I couldn't feel any interaction problems at all with the indirect set up. Really the heli rolled and flipped straighter than it ever did with the flybar. Can't see any reason at this point in paying $$$ for the mikado head conversion. There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness." |
