scorpion -10 motor running hot

im using the scorpion -10 with 13t pinion 100flat curve powerd by a TP 40a esc. im flying mild 3d for 4 1/2 minutes. after my flight the lipo is warm, the esc is warm but my motor is hot. hot to the point i can only keep my fingers on it for about 2-3 seconds. everything in my setup spins freely, gear mesh is perfect i re solderd all the joints today. maybe it could just be the weather, its 91 degrees here in the peach state. maybe im just a paranoid lol. other than my concern with motor heat it flys very well, lots of power. i just want to know if this should be normal for the -10 motor on a 13t. my esc settings are as follows

batttype-lipo
cut off-soft
gov-off
cut off voltage-middle
start-very soft
timing-middle
brake-off
pwm-low

Just fly the crap out of it!!. I am running exact same setup with 4s 14t 95 flat and flying hard for 430 and the motor is hot as well, has alot to do with ambient temp. I dont think its anything to worry about.

Yes they do get pretty warm when doing 3D, especially in hotter weather. That's not a problem at all.

i went to the lhs today and picked up a temp guage. this is with 3 minutes of hovering with some pitch pumps. i cant help it! lol

lipo- 110 degrees
esc-115 degrees
motor-135 degrees

I have the same setup as Jason671. My motor gets warm/hot from hovering & mild forward flight. I think it's the normal operating temperature.Long Island Eric

Today it was 100 degrees and I decided to check the temps on both the motor (-10) and the Lipos (4S/2200) after doing a full 5:00 minute 3D flight.

The motor temp was 125 degrees F and the Lipo temp was 120 degrees F.

Not too bad after beating on it for 5:00 minutes in 100 degree heat!
