What long charge receiver battery in my gasser??

I picked up an X-Cell Graphite Gasser yesterday and knowing that I'll be looking at flight times of 20+ minuites, I'm thinking that the only limitation to flying this long is the receiver battery. In my experience Nicad and Nickle Metal batteries will die before my 2nd - 3rd tank. I'd like to go with a Lipo set up, however since a 2 cell puts out 7.4 volts, how might I step this down to 6 volts into the receiver? I'm going to assume that there may be a an in-line resistor that I can use. I could use an Align 2 in 1 regulator as well.

I wouldn't use an Align regulator anywhere near my helicopter. I would go with something made better and more reliable like a Fromeco Arizona, SG ReactorX, etc.

I have had zero problems with the Align 2 in 1 on 4 other helis...

I love the convenience and reliability of my Align 2 in 1.

You will use about 35mah per flight minute. A 2200mah 2S LiPo pack will give you about 1 hour of flight time. Use 45 minutes as a safe limit.

Some kind of regulator to get down to 6V or slightly less and you're all set.

The Sullivan Genisys does not have enough output to sustain the average heli. I have one and the specs may be good for a plank but not a heli.

I have at least 5 Align regulators and never had a problem in hundreds of flights.It's easy to find an excuse to do wrong. Hard is not to find an excuse to do right.
