Maingear Verticle Play

Has anyone else played around with the spacing between the tail drive gear and the circlip on the bottom of the mainshaft? I found that I can get a slightly freer turning head if I allow a bit of verticle play for the oneway bearing. It occurs to me that the oneway will perform its function just as well regardless.

Thoughts?

I was just thinking about this and I ran across a thread by the same title over on the Miniature Aircraft forum.

well if it feels like there is any drag you can lightly sand with 1000 grit the washer, and vice versa if slop you can add a washer, RH sells these as seperates in I believe 10 pack. Frames differ in bearing seating depth and sometimes a few minutes of elbow grease gets you in the sweet spot. I just look for as little play but yet no drag and all is good....Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...
