Finally got the Bat gasser back out I guess I haven't flown in almost 4 months now. Too many other obligations coming up or rain, gusting winds, unforseen events....you name it.Well, had a friend that wanted to see my heli. He has a nice house down on a local river with a huge yard and neighbors are within shouting distance. So I thought I would bring it out and let him take a look at the machine.I figured that the machine would have to have some tweaking done for the first flight in such a long time but to my suprise the engine fired up on the third pull just like it had for many a "first starts" in the past. I let it warm up for at least a minute maybe 2 and then pushed up the throttle and she came right up into a nice smooth hover.A few circuits to see how everything was looking and I was amazed at how smooth the heli was. I swear it wasn't this smooth the last flight I had with it before it went to the "hangar". No tweaking of needles, nothing shaking, no funny sounds. I don't remember any of my nitro helis coming back to the flightline after 4 months of sitting without having to do some sort of tweaking at least to the engine. I almost began to worry because everything was really great. I decided to enjoy it instead of worry and did some stall turns, backwards flight, and nose in for a tank (30min) and I was back to knowing why I love flying helis.Sometimes a little vacation away from helis is a good thing for me. I have now stirred up the urge to make time to get back out to the heli field again.Camper Fuel is Better!! QWW Helis |

 I'm going to try to start getting out in the next few weekends....at least I hope to. Since my wife loves boats and being out on the water, I have a feeling that a great deal of my time will be spent on the local rivers and lakes with the family. Not a bad thing at all...and my children won't stop growing on me!!!!!I can miss some flying time....that's something that I can pick back up anytime. Family only happens onceI WILL get some stick time in here and there I'm sure.. Camper Fuel is Better!! QWW Helis |
