Yes, weight reduction is good. Wonder if Hobby King has a good 25 to 30c 600ma batt .. . .

I already checked on that Mitch. I didn't see one but they carry a 'polyquest' 30C 700 mAh I believe that weighs about 70g if I remember correctly. It was $27 plus shipping. I'm kinda spoiled by the low prices and good quality of the zippy stuff so that seems like a lot of money for a small battery like that, but look at the cost of the Thunder Power products. Why don't you look into the battery the Campos Boys use, what was the brand?

If you are looking for a cheap lipo that performs good. try the Neu energy 800mah 25c lipo. its only $16. I have two of them and they perform great for the price. The 600Mah lipos are fullymax. but i wont be buying any of them, as the Neuengergy are much cheaper, and perform pretty close.

Is that the battery you were flying when I took the video? BTW I'll be posting that video in a day or two, diesel.

I'm only waiting for my girlfriend to help me post the video. You can see it at You Tube now; look for 'diesel at OCMA' and 'Buildem at OCMA'. The quality is pretty good for a Cannon 'sure shot' with a movie option. Not as good as a video camera though.

yes i was flying the Neuenergy 800Mah in that video you posted. It works very good for the Price. It was a hand full in that wind. But i think i did okay. I could have flown longer in that video, but it was pretty windy, so i cut the flight short, as my timer is set for the 600Mah lipos. The 600 feel a little better, but $16 vs $30, i rather have more packs.

These videos, Gentlemen, are the the ones I took at the OCMA Funfly last Saturday (thanks diesel). The first one is dieselracer and the second one is his brother Buildem 336. It was WINDY for these little helis as you can hear in the video, but these guys handled it without an incident. I wish I would have caught diesel's 'warm-up' flight with his 12S TREX 600 on video, that was cool. I got all of Buildem's flight but ran out of memory for dieselracer's, though it was over 3 minutes anyway.

Well just when it was flying at it's best, I burned up the razor motor today. What a drag. It was performing well when, while rolling to inverted, the heli bogged and fell out of the sky. Remember mine was an attempt to copy Buildem's and dieselracer's blades. Mine is 275g for one thing (theirs are about 240g) and my battery weighs 96g which I know is heavier by far than theirs. So with full collective moves the whole flight (didn't make it to 4 minutes), that little motor got hot. I have carbon fiber blades at 255mm that I really like, 10t pinion like the Campos boys, the pitch was not excessive - about +11 / -11, and I always time my flights at under 5min with a 1050 30C battery. This heli was really flying well and it was windy too; the tail never gave out even once. You are warned when you buy this motor that is not warrantied against burning it up. It did not smell like a burned electronic part but I'm sure that it got too hot because when I touched the motor five minutes after the crash I could not hold my finger on it. Also when I try to initialize the esc and run the motor it just sounds like an old telephone ringing. The shaft, when you turn it, feels weird and you cannot feel the magnets except at one point. It's cooked.

Does it smell burnt? Have you tried spooling the motor up? I wonder if the shaft is spinning on the magnets?Blade CPP from hell. powered by NEU, T600 12S

No it doesn't smell burnt, but the motor won't turn from powering it up. When both escs initialize and I give it some throttle, the motor makes a ringing noise. Also when you turn the shaft by hand I used to feel the magnets like a ratchet. Now the shaft spins free for about 180 degrees then I can feel click or two then free again. I did not crash the heli either; when the motor quit the bird just fell to the ground (grass) and nothing at all was damaged.

yeah, the motor is fine, It just needs a new rotor. Sounds like the shaft is spinning on the magnets. Send it back for Repair, It should be a quick and easy fix.Blade CPP from hell. powered by NEU, T600 12S

Ok I will. I was going to call them tomorrow just to be sure anyway. I like your diagnosis. Why would that happen without a crash?

Every now and then, the magnets dont bond to the shaft strong enough. And under a load can break loose. I have seen this happen once before. Just send it to them, its most likely what they are going to tell you. But call them anyways maybe you can get a rush on it.Blade CPP from hell. powered by NEU, T600 12S

OK and I'll tell them diesel sent me; just kidding. I did tell the nice lady at Neu that you and your brother highly recommended this motor and a lot of us were buying one.

I absolutely LOVE my razor but I would NOT run it without the heatsink I made. We're only talking an additional 3.8 grams:

Nice heatsink Mitch! I talked to a technical person at Neu Motors and he agreed with dieselracer; my motor probably is not burned up. It did get really hot though, even on the bench so I think I just got a bad one to begin with. Before I had the problem though, this heli really performed like no other blade I've flown. I'm looking forward to sending this motor back and getting another one.
