Well we will see, I just ordered one myself. I was going to go with a 30fps but a friend just ordered one of those and I can just borrow it if need be

It should work pretty good for what I need and you are talking about. Here is a video from a similar 25fps cam .

Sony is coming out with a new HD video camera that you can attach it to your hat or helicopter. Its called HXRMC1/ACC Digital HD POV Camera Recorder with Accessory Kit. Not sure on the street price yet, but Sony said its MSRP is $2,599.00. Looks good though. http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/product-HXRMC1/ACC/

It will be less painful without sound if you crash

That is great! I'll just save the other $2,565 difference from the one I ordered, strap it to the heli and go fly, so if I crash (no sound) I can toss it in the garbage with the $1,200 heli I have...It's easy to find an excuse to do wrong. Hard is not to find an excuse to do right.

I had a Samsung cam just like the on that Siant728 shows. I bought it for snowboarding and wakeboarding and other sports. It had a strap so I could put it around my head while riding down the hill and ect. It was sweet for things like that but eventually I stopped using it and sold it. Darn, this is a perfect thing for it. I think they still sell cams just like the one I had. Check out a site that has Samsung Camera's and Camcorders.

Well I stopped in Best Buy before I placed an order online and got this little cam on sale for $89. I bought the 2 year protection plan for $32 that covers anything even accidental damage. They said as long as I could bring them parts of the cam they would replace it

I'm not sure when I'll get to fly the heli with it recording but so far I am impressed with the full screen 1280X720 HD setting that I played around in the back yard. It has a image stabilization setting that seems to work pretty well also ..

got this little cam
How are you thinking of using it?

Are you actually mounting it on a heli, use it yourself somehow or ask a buddy to tape for you?

This was my first test with the little cam from BestBuy. Try watching in HD setting if possible. I just uploaded the raw file instead of editing ..

Many times I've considered designing a video camera tracking system including zoom. It would require the smallest of devices on the heli so wouldn't impinge on performance. I expect the results would be similar to that seen on a sim.Vegetable rights and Peace

I got my "Gum" camera last week but it was defective. It is now on its way back to China.

Hope to have a replacement soon.

DarkSide,
Can you show how you mounted that camera?
I did not take a pic but I simply left the canopy off and had it strapped to the side of the main Lipo.

The large Velcro One-Wrap straps work great.
http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?acti...0924&lpage=none

My lipo sits vertical on the front tray and I put velcro on the side of the battery and the camera back, then wrapped the setup as one deal to the heli.

I'll try to get a good pic of the setup from the friends son that was taking a pic at the end of that vid

Can you tell there was a big crash behind me after I had set down ?
