1. Craculator or Auto Crack

This device will allow a heli to do crack while you focus on normal flying. If the heli is stable enough, it will do aileron crack while your hands are off from the stick. The devide is plugged into the trainer port on the back of Futaba tx and it is activated with a switch. Bobby demonstrated a crack auto with it.

2. Pitch accelerator on Futaba

I saw a new feature I did not know previously on a futaba radio. This feature when mixed with 10deg pitch, will allow you to overdrive the pitch to (for example 13deg) give you a hard stop and back off before it starts to bog the head. Normally you would give full pitch and back off to 10ish to prevent bogging.

This comes in only when you floor the pitch fast. If you move the stick slowly, it will go to normal pitch setting of 10. For this feature to work, you MUST have enough pitch past your setting to overdrive. For me, I set the pitch to 13+ so in order for this feature to work, I would have to back off my normal pitch from 13 to 10 or 11

The second one sounds like a good idea.

You dont need 12 - 14 degrees 10 would be better but you need 12 or more to stop quik.

Some of the guys who witnessed it will chime in here and validate the story.

LOL. I was repeating "WTF" like a broken record while watching Kyle Stacy and Bobby Watts test the craculator.

There should be a video that someone took of the craculator test.

It has two pots that allow you to adjust amplitude and rate of crack.
I kept on saying "It ain't right!"

As for the accelerator function, you can check it if you have two 12 and the 14mz.

Did anyone take the picture of the Craculator module stuck to the trainer port?

Its not all that complex.

1) Crack moves are also known as shaky sticks. Where one does a maneuver while shaking the sticks...like Alan Szabo. This module thats plugged into the trainer port of the transmitter and into the receiver creates that shaking movement all by itself. All you have to do is flick a switch. This way you can fly your normal 3D flight with smooth stick movements and the ship has that crack look to it. It's basically a cheat to do crack because its very difficult to do a crack maneuver well.

2) Pros fly with a lot of pitch like 13-14 degrees for that hard and loud stop. You can only stay on 14 degrees for half a second and would have to bring the collective down to like 10-11 degrees or else you will totally bog the heli. This is actually hard to do and therefore only a few pilots fly with that high of collective pitch. When you go full collective with the pitch accelerator, it will allow you to blip to 14 degrees for a second and automatically bring it back down to 10 to 12 degrees to prevent bogging. You can think of it like automatic collective management.

Ok, if I start seeing guys with "Craculators" at Ircha I'm quitting the hobby. . Is it too tiring for them to jerk their fingers back and forth? Too funny.

The acceleration has been in the 14 and 12 Futaba radios for a while.
I use it on my 12FG. You can set the rate of how much and how fast it moves. It really works well.

For me, the "crack" maneuvers fall into the same category as the hip-hop/rapper wanna be's/ thug life guys wearing their pants loose & falling down so thier underwear is showing. I.E.- I don't get it- but to each their own. Whatever floats your boat.
I guess the same was said about gyro's & gov's when they first came out. I guess I'm getting old & it shows.

Cracking is like jerking off with your helicopter...If you need to jerk off, go lock yourself in the bathroom.

I would think the craculator will do to crack moves what spinning hub caps did to spinning rims. Or at least what it did when I saw spinning hub caps on a soccer mom's old beat up mini van. It marked the date when the fad was officially over.
