So I have a V-bar 4.0 on my Furion. I have attempted an auto trim flight but I still have a red light. In hover it is very, very stable but does need just a tiny amount of cyclic correction in hover. When I piro, the tail violently oscillates for about 40 seconds then slowly comes to a solid rest.

I am using the T-rex 450 preset. Should I start from scratch and do a whole profile or tweak the existing t-rex file?

Have you considered turning the tail gyro gain down? and possibly turn the cyclic gain up a tiny bit?

Check in the setup under tail settings the piro optimization is working the correct way.

Also maybe lower the gain slightly on the tail and turn on the tail optimizer for 5 flights or so.

I found that to get green light you need to hover later on stick so I lengthen my rods from swash to grips 2 turns just to auto trim then put them back to 0 deg half stick .

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

Make sure;

a) piro optimization goes in the correct direction
b) tail torque compensation goes in the correct direction
c) correct tail servo

If your using the Pilot preset, try lowering stopgain to A=10, B=20.
Also try a little lower Collective Tail Torque compensation, somewhere around 18 perhaps (if your using the preset with 30)

Otherwise, post a copy of your file and I will have a look.

How can I tell if the Tail Torque comp is working the right way? How do I reverse it if it is?

click on the blue hat on the setup in the tail section and with it powered on move the heli and the nose should follow the direction of the dot. If not click the reverse button

Have 0 pitch, move pitch stick to max, it should deflect the tail same as you turn NOSE right.

If reversed, all three checkboxes (1 under tail-setup and 2 under tail-setup/expert) should be reversed.

Everything will be the same, just compensation will be changed.
