The title kinda sais it, I wanna outfit my 600 and 700N with a carbon tail pushrod instead of the steel thread.

My current idea is to use Quick UK carbon rod ends and Synergy rod guides. Will that work?

Any CF rod long enough and thick enough will suffice as long as you secure the ends correctly, and doesn't necessarily have to come from another model's line of parts. The risk lies within the bonding of the ends.

I'm planning the exact same thing on my 600.

Does anybody know what diameter the Quick UK rod ends are for? Are they for a 5mm rod?

I use the one from the century predator..cut to the length and glue the ends on. They have a nice rod guide as well.

I used to use the MA push rod kits religiously as they can be had for under $20. I thought that was pretty cheap until I noticed the LHS had a great carbon tube selection. Now I buy either .157 or .180 hollow carbon tube from them at $6 a lenght-enough to do a tail on a 50 and 90.

I cut it about just a mm or two short and slide it over the stock wire rod secured with jb weld. the extra mm or so still leaves room for jb weld to grip the threads and not interfere with threading on the link. I works like a charm and with the original wire still used you dont have to put 100% faith into the jb weld.

I fab a single guide from scrap carbon plate and it is bomb proof. The last one I built is pared to a mini-g/9256 combo using rocket city links and it can runn at 100% maximum gain(not menu gain but gain on the g-view) without wagging.

... and Synergy rod guides. Will that work?
Yes, and no. I was going to do this.

Took some extra Synergy parts I had and tried it. I took apart the 700 and put on a Synergy control rod guide and tail clamp (with additional control rod guide). Even took a carbon rod, sized it to the 700, epoxied rod ends and put Align links on it. Then had the realization that this will not work. The Synergy tail control system is centered on the boom. The 700's is offset due to the recycling of the 600's frame mounted tail control arm. The carbon rod would bend as it passed through the Synergy's tail clamp guide - this was the end of this idea for me.

That said, the stand-alone tail control guides from Synergy will work fine. When I get another (I think two are needed) I may try the carbon rod again. The guides fit a little loosely, but a little CA and you're good.

The century predator rod guides are the best alternative by far since they are adjustable!

How thick is the century carbon rod?

The rod is 5mm and yes the rod guide is adjustable in all directions per built in slider.

The Quick UK rods are 5.5mm I ordered 2 of those with the end caps.
I am gonna use the century predator guides if I can find them somewhere, any ideas on that one?

Than let's see how this works out
