I've been away from learning to fly my Raptor 30 and my Ergo 46. I would like to know what needs to be done to get them back in the air. I've been away 4 years and everything has just been sittng on the shelve staring at me. Do I need to gut the helis and put everything new in it? I have a JRPRO10XPCM and a JR8103 radio. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

re move your engines and clean them. remove all fuel lines and clunk and replace with new. check your main blades for delamination as well as your tail blades. if your using nicads they will more than likely be shot so get a new one . then turn her no and check all the servos and links nuts bolts every things else. if it were mine i would strip down the whole thing and rebuild. If you do this you will have peace of mind that you havent missed any thing. hope this helps and welcome back.

1. I would replace all the fuel lines, especially inside the tanks as mentioned above.

2. Don't even think about using the old batteries, buy new ones, even in the TX's. You may want to just replace the switch on the heli also, a little corrosion can go a long way in there.

3. Replace the dampers in the head, lube the spindle with some silicone grease.

4. Carefully check the servos. They can go bad sitting there. Make sure they don't have any 'dead spots'. use them for a couple of minutes on the bench or something just to make sure they are working correctly.

5. Clean any grime and oil off the main shaft and tail shaft where the mechanics slide. Oil them with a light oil.

6. Look for any loose screws or bolts.

7. If you have wood blades check to make sure they have not warped. Make sure the roots are glued on well and still look secure.

Stop , don`t come back
Be glad you got out when you did. It`s a never ending spirling money pit that knows no end till you either end up dead ,divorced cause you spend to much time at the flying field, or broke, or you pawn things around the house to get that few crummy dollars for that heli to fly fix be it fuel, batteries, parts ,gyro`s , radios, whetever.

So STOP, stay away. And never come back.

Don't know how old your 8103 is (or that 10X), but at least the 8103 might want to take a trip to Horizon to replace the memory backup battery. If the 10X has a backup battery, you might consider having it replaced at the same time.
