That blows!!!

Seriously though, it looks like it could have been worse. Sorry for your mishap either way.

Maybe this will make you feel better. I was flying my 450 in the back yard near my home one evening. It was windy, but I have a bit of a courtyard type deal where I figured I would be sheltered somewhat.

Got the heli out past the edge of the house and guess what? Yup there was a good deal of wind out there... slammed right into the side of the house.

Just for the record... 325mm rotor blades spinning at near 3000rpm WILL break vinyl siding!

total cost $154.08 the only thing damaged on the head was the spindel shaft and main blades, the flybar somehow missed everything. all the electronics check out whew! the tail and everything attached minus the servo and fin was a total loss.

more bad news was i had planned to get a trex 450 pro on payday. now i dont know if i should just go ahead and get it and fix this later or not delema delema!

Bad luck mate, Ive had my 600e over 2 years now and not had 1 real blade smashing crash yet.

I tried to maiden my 500e yesterday and it tipped over on the ground and errupted, I tried to fly with reversed aileron. There was a tiny moment just when I realised what caused the crash I nearly started crying.
Its a new day, hopefuly today will be better.

Ive got my one nearly built back up again, now Im crapping myself about what its going to when I spool up, even though I know why it toppled over the first time, Its surely going to want to tip one way not being trimmed up yet.
Its so damn vulnerable while its still on the ground, Im thinking maybe just lift of immediately, even though ive flown a while, flying helis that never been flown before like this is scary ****.

spitfire1 as long as you level the swashplate good you dont need trim. I never use any trim and mine will shoot strait up.

I dunno if to set my normal t/curve to 80% in the middle like I know is about right or 50%, I guess its not gonna make too much difference either way if the blades hit.

EDIT. I did dit

That was scary as hell, I understand what its like for these new guys just starting out with there first heli now, its been so long I forgot, still shaking now.!!
