I know this will cause a great debate but would like to know which Heli you all think is best for AP video and stills work. I'm thinking of using the HeliCam Solutions Mark IV, so I know I'll need a big gasser or electric ship.

So what is the consensus here from experiences?

Edit: I'm just looking for opinions on what works well based on your experiences. If you have tried multiple heavy lifting platforms or just one, I'd like to hear about it. I will try to draw my own conclusions based on your feedback. Thanks

Just another crappy day in Paradise....Aloha!

Bergen Gasser
My vote is for the Bergen EB Gasser. I use it for video with a Mark IV. Very reliable, smooth when tuned properly, best customer service on the planet.

cranester is right on his reply.
The way you titled your thread has almost no answer but your question is actually more specific. Perheps you should have asked this as "I have a Mark IV mount and will lift such and such camera gear and I will do still and/or video, what are my options to lift this set up"
You would get more useful answers this way.

The way you asked "Best Camera Ship?" has practically no asnwer...

Besides that, people are only going to tell you what they are using.ot necessarily which is best. Its important to have experience with multiple models before claims can be made on which is better.

I have heard very good feedback on Vario, but I have never tried one.

I can tell you what wont work or wont work well espically here in Hawaii. Bergen observer with stock front mount, smaller Logos, nitro burners. I have tried all of these.

I have gone from a Spectra G gasser to a Razor 600E. I just could not deal with engine vibration. Some manage the vibration well with dampers of various types. Since mine is just for fun, I can deal with the short flight times of electrics. But if you want long flight times of 45 mins then a gasser will do that.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

You are basically looking at a gasser or the Maxi Joker. I just finished building my Bergen Gasser and I really like the building experience. Unfortunately I set it down a little too hard when the tuned pipe came off and stripped the main gear. So I have to wait for a new gear before flying it again. It flew pretty darn smooth first time out. The noise is pretty loud having flown electric for a long time.;-)
