I'm guessing only Flight Power USA is gone, Flight Power UK and the global company are still alive and well. I'm sure you will probably see a new Flight Power USA pop up soon to take the previous place.

Why would you hope that a company that helped bring lipo perfromance to where it is today gone.I say give them a chance and maybe they will help evolve the lipo by leaps like they did before.Just because they are expensive doesn't mean they are crap.

And your point is? Every battery company buys their raw cells from some other place and then assembles.

It just comes down to simple economics, there considerably more expensive than the other packs on the market but no better, in my own experience they puff up and loose punch much faster than other packs on the market, even the very cheapest I must say.

As spitfire says, its economics. I've had only one FP pack puff on me, it suddenly died and had no capacity may due to over discharge. I've been running a number of their packs for several years, but the capacity and punch has decreased so they end up in planks.

FP packs are about twice the price of others packs in the UK, and the cheaper packs are actually better, more punch. I do think FP packs are very consistent across the cells, and give consistent performance, but its consistently average performance.

Its interesting that FP claims the new EON cells have "Unnoticeable degradation of capacity or performance over 100 cycles", may be they have addressed the performance issue. But I'd rather buy 2 packs of cheaper cells that I know are going to perform.

FP are just way over priced, simple as that.

It makes you wonder... are the big name battery companies going to need to change their strategy to compete with the "Zippys" out there, They're going to need to do something!

FlightPower
If you had ever wondered what would be said at your own funeral....

I was particularly touched by the comments concerning bringing LiPo performance to where it is today. Thank you.

Gentlemen

FlightPower is very much alive and in production of the finest product we ever brought to market: FlightPower EON-X.

In the words of Daniel Jetschin: The performance jump from EON to EON-X 30 is so great that all manoeuvres need to be dialed in again.

In fixed-wing, Donatas Has just won the World Air Games in Torino Italy on EON-X

EON-X is the most significant launch, and the most significant technology leap we have made in years - and yes it has taken a lot of time, planning and pain to make this happen, including a complete change of supplier and production facilities.

Cycle life: We have listened to the concerns about the previous generation cells fading. EON-X 30 is retaining 100% capacity and 100% performance after 100 30C cycles.

Power: EON-X 30 power is insane. Instead of the old theory of C-Rate tolerance, EON-X works on the principle of C-Rate delivery. EON-X IR is fraction of EON 1. Temperatures are cooler and the product runs in excess of 3.5V for the majority of a full 30C cycle and 3.7V in typical mixed throttle use for stunning Watt output and crisp cyclic response.

EON-X is now in full production and is either in stock already or will soon be in stock at distributors world wide.

Julian, proof is how many people see packs fail.... do you seriously think I would put hard earned cash down again on your product? my real proof is my hyperion cells which are twice the age (were retired to my stryker) perform better than your cells its too late for you
