Hi Guys

A couple of questions:

1) What is the recommended collective pitch range (or max)?

2) On page 113 of the assembly manual, they say to tighten the boom retainer bolt until it seats on the frame. It looks to me like this is meant to go into the side of the tailboom, like a setscrew, but actually dent or crush the boom to create it's own flat spot. But to seat on the frame, it's gotta go in pretty far. Looks like it would crush the tailboom pretty bad (more than I feel comfortable with). What do you guys do here? I'm temped to apply loctite, and then screw it in only 2-3 turns after it touches.

Thanks

Dan

I'm not sure what the intended solution is, but don't screw it in too far or you'll crack the frame. I think you're supposed to drill a hole, but I just backed mine off...

Needs to go through the boom, drill a hole. Make sure you have the correct size so it does not contact the drive.

Yes, drill a hole in the boom. You really need to make sure you have the tail case and t/r output shaft lined up cuz once you drill the hole that's what you've got. I personally love it since it does a very good job of keeping boom form pulling out of the boom holders and it keeps the boom from rotating in the holders.

As far as collective pitch goes... What motor are you running? Flybarred or FBL?

Stock flybarred, X-Era 4030/2.5Y-560, 12S.

Also, one of my tail rotor pushrod links split. Is MA the only place to buy replacement parts? Their website is pretty limited. I guess you have to call them for parts?

Ron's does have a ton of stuff in stock. If you need anything X2 specific, call MA direct and they can help you out pretty quickly.

I would start at +-12. I think that is a god start point. YOu may need to back it off to +-11 depending on the head loading as you fly. I think the collective limit is +-12.5 at the mechanical extremes of the stock head.

Ya but the Ions you had were dogs compared to a X2.
The original Ion with the Hacker motor and ESC and the computer fan.

An Ion X2 with an Outrunner and unlimited gearing choices is a Kick A$$ machine.

You took me wrong, I do love them all. The one that was yours became a X2 and its a toss up which is the better flying heli, the X2 or the eStratus.

Hey if the paint scheme works, but I thought you said that was Bill's scheme.
