I have been working on this trex 450 for two days solid, and cant get the pitch range the same.

Serovs 90, and servo linkage rods per the manual looks good. I get 0 pitch at mid stick, and everything is level.

Help please, I'm getting tired of not knowing what to do. I have been over it a dozen times.

Cant seem to make sence of what I'm doing wrong, been to helifreak chat, watched videos.

I'm going insain, and my heli is makeing me so angery, its about to get stomped. JK I would not do that, but feel like it needs a azz kicking in the tail rotor.

What transmitter?

Make sure you're doing all your setup in Idle1

I was ok till I started to setup the Idelup 1,2 then I noticed I had maximum 9+ Fill Stick, and -12 Lowstick.

Right now I'm going thru the whole head, and going buy the SA manual, I was useing the SE manual, and I think the linkage rods mm's are diffrant from SA to SE.

My trex is a SA model. I should have know better than going buy the SE manual.

Onlying I thought was diffrant was the SE had a Carbon fiber frame, guess I was wrong.

The length in the manual is just a reference. It does not have to be exactly what the manual says, adjust rods so it centers and does not bind you will be fine

Isn't the orientation of the servo arms as they are installed a variable in this case?

I guess it's just not mean for me to be able to set it up good.
First time I did it fine, and now I cant.

Of course the first time I just set it up for hovering and the swash was level, and all the mixing and was arms was perfect.

But then I was not looking to get the same amount of pitch range top and botom.

This time I wanted it perfect, like other peoples and no matter what I do it gets worse.

Sorry for the trouble, guess I'll just quit, and fly my simulator.
I'm wearing the balls and linkages out trying to fix it.

You do understand you have the option to "rotate" to the next point on your servo arms. Right??

Yeah, I have swapped them around to find the one that fits closest to 90, and then used sub trim to get them 90 spot on.

Maybe once my batterys charge, and my back quits killing me, I'll have another go at it.

I cant sit but like 30 minuts at a time, it kills my back.

around to find the one that fits closest to 90,
This is not what I'm saying.

If your pitch is too much one way, and not enough the other, you need to;
"rotate" to the next point on your servo arms.

I'm now putting together a new set of linkages, per the manual, just to get them the same size for sure. 100% And double checked before installing.

Then put servo arms on close as possible to 90, then use subtrim to center.

Then Try again, working my way up.

Update latter. if it dont take me out first.

Idle 1 why?
Because mixing that can cause you problems such as HOV-PIT is only active in normal mode.

Get your mechanical set up for max throw in idle up then adjust your curves for normal mode

Just a thought.... check that the Hover pitch trim switch is centered,it only affects normal mode. You can check to see if its centered by looking at the "in and out" values on the screen, they should be the same through the pitch range in normal. The hover pitch trim switch wont affect Idle 1&2 or TH. Hope this helps.

Ok well I didn't set it up in Idelup 1, because I did nott know why I should.

But last night I worked on it till 12:00PM and now I have.

In Normal Mode:

0 Degress at Mide Stick.

Full Pos Stick,is +11 degrees.
Full Neg Stick is -11 degrees.

I had the same problem on a 450 that I bought used. Drove me nuts until I realized that he had installed the main shaft upside down. If there is any of the shaft sticking out beneath the main gear, then you may have the same problem. Properly installed, you shouldn't see any of the shaft at the bottom.

It's level with the end of the main gear, 4mm ftom tip to screw hols per the manual.

My other bird was like that when I got it used, the guy had the shaft upside down, and the main gear was dropped way down cause the collar on top of the head block was not fitting in the grove.
