I try the tic toc again, and find that the head bogs quite a bit after completing the Tic part. I have pulled the collective stick to the lowest, but still the heli does not like to climb/move. However, the heli is able to climb smoothly if it is in inverted hovering when I bang the collective.

fyi - here is my setting

Throttle Curve: 100/85/65/85/100
Pitch curve: 10/5/0/-5/-10
Cyclic Servos: JR DS537
Throttle Servo: JR 537

Any suggestions are welcomed.

Rudy

the servos may be a little on the week side for 3d.

If you want more pop you may need a servo with more torq than the 537's... it may just be that the servos are not fast/strong enough when loaded.

It is the SWM version. However, it is ok if it is just a normal climb up from either hovering or inverted hovering position.

I would be glad if the cause is the servo which means my skills has exceled the equipment limit. LOL.

Any other possibilities?

No governor. The pitch range is +/-10.

No governor
This is probably contributing to the problem.

During a tic-toc, both collective and cyclics are putting load on the head. There is a huge difference between a straight and level climb-out and a tic-toc.

Unless you install a governor, your best bet is probably to add some cyclic->throttle mixing to automatically add throttle as you input cyclics. This is pretty easy to do if you have available mixes. You'll need two mixes for this:

Aileron->throttle
Elevator->throttle

You need to add positive throttle on both sides of the mix (so you're increasing throttle as you input any cyclic commands). How much of a mix to enter needs to be determined experimentally.

Try adding 30% aileron/elevator to throttle mix, but does not quite help. It is still reluctant to climb after the tic and of course does not have that kind of pop at all I am looking for. Should I change to faster and poweful cyclic servos or should I try leaning the engine further?

Hi rudyy

I am assuming your motor is tuned and running well.

10 deg of pitch is not very much. There should be no bogging with only 10 deg.

You could try increase you throttle curve a little. This will increase the mix stick rpm slightly and possible give you more 'pop' and quicker recovery when you come off full stick.

Try it in ST2 and leave ST1 the same as before. You can then turn it off if the rpm goes crazy....

What servo arms are you using. With the dimensions in the manual, i found i needed very high swash travel values. I went to bigger arms and things improved greatly.

Hope this helps.

Paul

Fuel Problem
I cannot believe this. I just empty my bottle of wildcat 15%, and get another full one, the same wildcat 15% helimix. Guess what, it gives much more power than the last bottle. It gives so much power that I have to give a few click towards the rich side to tame it down. I really have no idea why it would make the difference. Those two bottles come from the boxes (8 bottles) that I purchased in April. Now, I have the pop that I am looking for for my tic-toc.

Hi

If you need it richen it up to calm things down.... consider adding more pitch. 10 is not that much. I ran my Sceadu with +12/-12. I was using CP30 fuel though.
