Building a new vibe 50 after my last one was destroyed. My question is which way does the tork tube go since the bearing is offset. does the bearing go close to the fram or tail.

Never loose airspeed, altitude and ideas all at the same time.

The torque tube bearing can go either way, mine is set to the front for balance purposes.

Same here. It also seems that somehow things work better that way (resonance)

tchavei thanks that is why I was asking even though not stated in original. I heard so much about this resonance (?spelling) and want to avoid this at all cost. this might be why some people are having that problem and some are not. this could probabl use some more looking into.

Thanks John

I set mine closer to the tail like the manual states. The bearing centered 400mm from the front end of the TT and 350mm from the rear of the TT. Same as 2 other Vibes i fly with. But we all wrapped our bearing with 2 layers of electricians tape and then into the block. No resonance/hum.

As long as it works, who cares. Currently I'm even using 2 bearings in the tail spaced as follows:

tail |<---300mm--->|<---250mm--->|<--200mm-->| main frames

No hum, no problems

I'm sure I have an overkill, but I have 3 bearings!!!! Initially had one, glued in with a dab of glue so left it and put one spaced differently either side. It's working well.
