So I was hovering maybe 2 feet off the ground doing nose-ins so I could get used to the oreintation. Turned right and was headed towards the far side of the runway when I don't know if it was a gust from behind but my heli just seemed to slow-roll away from me and I don't know if I was too low and too far away to notice the orientation to compesnste or what but it blade struck and rolled onto its side. Bent the fly-bar and broke the blades for sure. Will have to pull it all apart and check the shaft and stuff.

I just hope I can rebuild it better than I built it. It seems with my Axe everytime I have to rebuild, it just never acts the same.

Thank god for the sim though as I'm going to Vegas in a couple of weeks and won't have the fundage to do repairs till I get back. Crap, I've struck the ground and openend a money pit.

If you go higher than that you have a better chance to correct what ever you need to save the heli. (I learned that the hard way!) My .02

I agree two feet is too, low.

For a small heli, I'd say go at least 3 feet to get away from the ground effect.

Don't worry as your building skills will improve, after every rebuild.

3 mistakes high... Not too high to have trouble seeing the heli but high enuff to be able to mess it up twice

well atleast it was a dipover and not a full fledge crash, it if would of rolled over at 6 feet like where I had been hovering side to side it would of been a big one.

1st crash...
the 1st one is easy to deal with....it's when you get to like the 100th crash ...that's when it starts getting frustrating

every crash is frustrating no matter how many you have and how much they cost.
