Set-up: T-Rex 600NP, Align RCE-G600 Govenor

Problem A. When Idle up switch is engaged, the idle up will not engage until the collective/throttle is pushed all the way up. And sometimes it will not engage then.
I have gone over every step of the instructions and reset the throttle curve every way I can imagine. What's up ???

Big Problem B. When idle up does engage, (ready for this?), the blade tracking gets WAY off. We have them tracking as close to perfect as you can imagine and then when it goes into idle up the whosh, whosh, whosh starts and the blades are way out again???

New, main shaft, new feather shaft, new blade holders. ( didn't need them, just changing out everything I can toi find the problem).

Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Wayne

JR 9303 2.4
revisited all switch assignments, inhibited switches, and so on.
Throttle ATV is 90%.
Throttle curve on idle-up is 100-90-80-75-80-90-100.

Wayne,

Problem A:
Got to be something in the radio settings. As you know I'm ignorant about the JR radio and the Align governor.

Problem B:
What does it do on the bench? Blade tracking is all mechanical. Flipping a switch on the Tx shouldn't have anything to do with tracking. Try to match your hover headspeed in Normal with your headspeed in IdleUp. Then you should be able to switch between I1 and N without the heli changing altitude.

Ask your doctor if your heart is healthy enough for Radio Control Helicoptering.

this sounds like something is loose in the head. Check all the screws.

Problem
A: Firts of all are you doing any 3D flying if not why do you want to have an idle up setting? If you are doing 3D Then here is some things to do:
1. The ATV has nothing to do with the throttle curve,it is to set the range of travel for the throttle servo so it does not bind at full high or full low (with the trim at low position). Having to say the the ATV is 90% means nothing as far as idle up. Make certain that when you change the flight mode switch it goes to stunt 1 or stunt 2 and is not set to Normal. Do you understand what it means to go to idle up, I not saying you are stupid, just do you understand what idle up is? Read the manual it explains things very well, if you do not understand idle up then you can get hurt very bad, the heli can go to full throttle and can go out of control.

B: tracking
This has nothing to do with any switch, it is in the link rods, and when you go to idle it only goes to another pitch curve, the one that is set to flight mode N,1,2,3,4. The 9303 Has 4 flight modes that can be set, make certain the pitch curve you want is set to the correct flight mode so you can get the correct amount of Negative pitch for the idle up setting.
C: Do you have any one near you that has a 9303 and can help you this may be your best option. Hope this helps we all have been in your boots so not to worry you can figure it out and remember to fly safe!!
You may have some bad dampners that cause the tracking problem, you stated you changed the " Blade holders" do you mean damperners?

Idle up
also check the govenor it may not be set to the correct settings, and your throttle curve looks correct with the setting you gave it should be in the form of a "V" in idle up 1. Also look in the heli book it has all the pitch and throttle settings for you to use.

Dah, well yes I do fly 3D. Yes I do know what IDLE-UP is and what it is used for, AND if you were famalier with the Align govener you would know the ATV is used to set the govener and head speed.

As for as the 9303 I think I am famalier with it.

Sorry I used the term: "Blade holders" for Blade grips.
Dampers, they were replaced along with the Blade Grips, bearings, and the feather shaft.

Read the heli book for settings ? well that's a good tip.
Thanks for your help.

Normally when your blades come out of track in idle up it can mean they are not balanced, or you may have your Thrust bearings the wrong way round..

The smaller diameter washer goes toward the blade grip..

Thanks Matt, that is what was wrong. Went to the shop this morning and took the whole head apart and went through it with a fine tooth comb.
Feel bad I did this last week and fought it all week long.

0228, yes your responce did offend me a little.
I know you stated " I am not saying you are stupid", but your words sure came across like you thought I was.

Yau'll fly safe now, ya hear.

Thanks.
