Has anyone checked the CG on their SG? Mine pitches back. What weights do you guys use and where do you get them? Thanks - Kris

Hi,

The front battery/radio tray is adjustable. You can pull it all the way forwards, and mount your battery a few millimeters away from hitting the canopy, and it should be fine. I'm using one of the lightest lipos around and have no CG problem.

Another option is to get rid of the heavy metal tail clamp and fin and either go with a plastic one, or an aftermarket from QuickUK for the Vibe 50.

Regards,
G

Gorgin- My battery tray is forward and I have the same equipment as you except I have the O.S. motor and the Ely Q regulator and my bird pitches back. My friend Gary L has the same problem. Are you sure your machine is correct? How did you check yours? My machine needed 170 grams of weight to get the cg correct. - Kris

Are you checking with a half tank of fuel?

I checked with half, full, and empty. Even with the weights at full it still pitches back a little, at half it's a little forward and empty a little more forward. I pick it up with my two middle fingers by the flybar and I use a level. - Kris

Balance your Heli with a half tank, that's the best your going to get.

Hi Kris,

Yes, mine is correct. As you can see in my pictures, I have modified the tail a lot. Its much lighter than stock. I'm using a CF pushrod, and some Synergy and QuickUK parts to reduce weight... I don't know how the CG would be with the stock tail...

G
