The hot cars thread that was just started inspired me to vent on a subject of this last weekend.

I went to a car show that was held this weekend. I forget the name but it is a bigger (read not local) event. Tickets were $15 plus $3 for parking (another pet peave to pay for parking after tickets). Overall it was ok, but what I don't get is why do people enter newer cars. I pay good money to see hot rods and vintage cars. I could care less to see new Mustangs or even the 2005 Dodge truck the was there. I mean come on people, if I wanted to see those I would go to the car lot.

Ok, I'm done, I'll get off my soap box now.

People enter what they have and what they are "into". If everyone was the same, we'd all like the same brand and model of car.

Totally agree....

That said i've entered a off topic car in the daytona turkey run every year I dont have a car in the show itself...granted I park it out of the way but...

The reason I do it? easy, its in the speedway....it costs $15 a day each to get in (4 day show) or $55 for a vehicle entry for a car load of folks. and I'm there the whole 4 days as well as all of my friends. Granted the parking is free outside BUT you park MILES away. I go to buy parts, alot of times heavy parts and dont feel like lugging em a really really long way.

Ask your Doctor if getting off your ass is right for you.

Newer Mustangs (S197's, Terminators, ect)are putting 500 RWHP +

So many bolt ons and affordable superchargers, the clean look is in on HotRods....

They may look stock to you, but a Saleen supercharger looks just like a standard plenum cover. But they sound incredible!

we are seeing new Nissan GT-R's that go 0-60 in 3 secs. This is insane power. And Im not talking Rice burners....

The new mods out for modern cars is unbelievable!

Take a closer look sometime or take a ride..

Find a local SCCA event and hop in!

I had a long response but decided to just leave it alone. If I wanted to see a newer Mustang with a lot of bolt on hop up's I'd go to the local hangout on Friday nights for free.

Hey Dbles, it's cool. There is too much arguing over nothing here already so that's why I left it as it was. I was probally already pissed off after having to pay for parking even though the parking was on the event's land. I think that is BS so it put me in a slightly bad mood already. I understand as said above every one likes different things. Mabe they should have designated ares for different types. They had a group of lowriders that stuck to one area on their own. I would be cool with that.

I can understand more of the Mustangs and such, but a bone stock Dodge Ram?
