I thought so too but I've had well over 100 flights now without issue. The top canopy grommets fit really snug and the canopy won't move much when on my heli.

Just fly the crap out of it backwards and let us know if it comes off in flight.

I havent had a pack in my one yet, but I put some electric tape on my canopy where it slots into that slot, but it seemed to hold on OK, I only did that because even after the first time I pushed it in my canopy cracked slightly.

Works fine
I have logged in MANY MANY flights on mine and haven't had an issue with the front clip....it seems to work ...

I wouldn't worry about it ...

Over 1000 flights here and never had a canopy issue except the grommets wear out too fast.

I used the nylon bearing block Plastic hexagonal bolt .

i cut it down to fit perfect and used allen bolts to bolt the canopy on.

that worked great for a year. thumb screws would have been perfect i just used bolts

Holy crap!, its just occured to me what you mean.

The grommets on my 600e are warn out, and the last few weeks Ive started doing this thing, where I come down after a stall turn tail down for as long as I can to build up as much backward speed as I can before hitting the deck.

Now Im really worried the wind pressure could rip of the canopy.

I wonder how many people learned that the hard way with backward flight like I probly would have done.!

Damn! its always been so easy to just pop on my canopy, I dont really want to start haveing to screw in bolts every single time I fly.

I dont know what to do now, it has never come of til now but Ive only just started doing fast backward flying.

600e,s come off pretty easy thats why I have the plastic nuts with thumb screws kind of like the booya mount but wont damage the frame in a wreck

I just wish that I had never read this bloody canopy thread in the first place, from now on every time I fly backwards all Ill be thinking about is my canopy comeing off and going into my main blades.

HAHA

I don't think there is any problem with the 500 or 700 at least none that I have read. I think it would be even more impossible with the 700 since the grommets really hold that sucker tight.

The only one that I'm worried about is the 600, the grommets are nowhere near as strong as Align's other helis but that one has a pretty good clip. There was a video a while back where the canopy came off in flight, I could swear it was a 600 but I can't remember for sure.

Here's the answer, works great, and isn't coming off in flight.

I just love the hastle free flight of Electrics, dont like the idea of haveing to screw my canopy on every single flight.

Think at very least ill put some new grommets on my 600e.

The 500e one seems like it holds on tight enough should be OK for now.

I don't use the slot.
I just hook the canopy all the way under the frame.
It's a bit of a stretch getting back to the grommits so I can't imagine the fiberglass canopy stretching enough(at all)to come out and over the frame.
Putting it under the frame instead of in that slot also allows the use of Velcro.A strip on the frame and the other inside the canopy.

I literally never use the word literally right.
