I didn't think there would be much of a difference.

Running one in my Redline .53 for the first time.
I went to the LHS to pick up a fresh stash of Enya #3 plugs for my Redline .53 They didnt have any in stock there and as I gazed over the plug rack I suddenly spotted a hook with brand new OS #7 plugs! Hey, I'll try one of those instead!!!!

I was at my wits end with tuning these last few weeks. I ran the engine with a .004 shim and the top end seemed lacking, I ran the engine without the .004 shim and the mid range seemed lacking and the smoothness of the engine seemed to take on a raspy feel. Leaning merely ramped up the temps higher than I wanted to run.

So with my shim reinstalled and the OS #7 in place. I fired it up and she settled down to a smooth idle. The low needle had been set back to flush and the main needle at 2.5 turns. She spooled up clean as can be. Headed up for my standard flying of loops, rolls, 540's, a few flips here and there. Hung it upside down for a spell, hammered the negative and powered up and over into a clean arc back to straight an level. Power was so smooth, the engine seemed cleaner and happier than I had ever seen it. Ran two full tanks through it and called it an afternoon.

My biggest issue of RPM recovery after a burst of full collective seemed to be solved. Only without the heat build up I'd seen by removing the shim.

I dont think this plug is just another Enya #3 knock off. I think its well worth trying. One thing that OS plugs have given me that no other plug has so far is confidence, consistancy and longevity from flight to flight.

Give it a try, you might like it. I see that tower has them for a pretty reasonable price as well!

Works MUCH better in the YS91SR IMHO. I was turned in as low as I dare go with an OS8 and just couldnt get it to run clean. Put in the OS7 went 1 click richer on high and mid needles and she purrs like a kitten and roars like a pissed off lion.

I normally run enya 3 in my YSSR but ran out. THe OS8 plug is the only plug that gave me trouble in it. Needless to say OS7 or enya3 is all I will run from now on.

I just received a PM message from another Redline .53 owner whose bogging top end power issues were instantly solved with an OS #7 plug. One more success story. Hopefully he will post his results.

Thats correct!! Been having issues for a while now with redline, shims and no shim, hidden needle adjustment, u name it I tweaked it!! All along I've run os8 and never changed it. Well as of yesterday I WILL NOT be selling my 600... After throwing in an OS7 plug it's perfect now, like I said to tony, miniature stump puller at 195f on head. It recovers rpm instantly now! Running 30% coolpower.008 shim at sealevel in Miami, FL!! OS7 FTW!!!

Thanks for everyones input!!

this has to be one hell of a plug to get a thread just about its performance.

I guess I have to order a few and try them out myself. I'm still a little sceptical though. You can't feel a night and day difference between the OS8 and the Enya3 unless you're having engine troubles with one of them and the OS7 is right between them I was told...

""this has to be one hell of a plug to get a thread just about its performance""

well with what is said here for the TT it seams to be the right Heat Range anyway !!

but I'm betting the OS 7 is just a bit Hotter than the Enya 3..

hotter than an enya3? That would mean the ignition is even more advanced. Predetonation would definitely be a concern with higher nitro content.

2 gallons and she wouldnt start after todays flight.
I've got just over 2 gallons on my first OS #7 and while the Redline really seemed to like it, todays flight lost some power at the end. After landing and refueling she wouldnt relight. Pulled the plug and it had a very poor glow on my power panel. Great performance when new, poor longevity beyond 2 gallons for my Redline.
