guys i fancy doing a scale project and want to use a 500 as a base. I would fly it for a bit to make sure its ok before i put it in a fuselage. but what i want to know is is it a heli that will live in a heli body ok for a while withot having to take it out of the body all the time so i mean is the quality good?

Had mine 1 and 1/2 years. Hundreds of flights.

Flawless. Only issue; If you have the belt version with Spectrum RX.

The belt needs to be sprayed with liquid silicone.

It's a great heli, would be awesome if we could get nitro flight times, that's my only complaint so far. Probably 125 flights and everything seems to be slop free.

I put over 1000 flights on my 500. It was the lowest maintenance heli I've owned.

Totally solid, but just pitch the belt drive all together. That just caused me problems until I put a torque tube on it. Since I put the TT on it, it's been perfect.

I have mine since March of 2008, 492 flights later and still really love flying it.
