Take your time with your wiring and dont use the stock servos. I cant vouch for the servos but have read of many people having them short or glitch even before the heli has been setup, let alone flown. I have about 25 flights on mine and love it so far. Such a smooth, quiet bird.

Dude there is nothing wrong with the stock servos on the Pro.
dont let him scare you.

now the power system.. its pretty finiky.. it likes very high (30+C) batts to really perform.

alot of guys dumping the stock motor and ESC for a better combo.
I mysel;f hate the stock powerplant.
It hates my new 25C batts and only likes 30C or above batts and then it flies decent.

Mines for sale if you know anyone that wants on =-P

Think I have 44 on the gyro rate.

I highly recommend you watching Finless Bob's video over on the freaky-site on setting up the Gyro and electronics placement.

The way the frame is setup it's really weird placing the ESC and Rx and routing all the wires.

But YOU'RE GONNA LOVE IT!

Great Heli, Manual Not So Great
Being a beginner, my brother helped me build my new Pro, and we used all the stock parts. Had one servo DOA, but the Helidirect guys are SO good at helping it was not a problem. The manual is a little iffy since it was designed to build the heli from scratch, not ARF, and really gives no suggested order to assemble. Take your time and get the setup as near perfect as you can, and you will be greatly rewarded with a very stable flying heli. We toned down all the curves so I can hover and do basic FF without being squirrely... and it will nearly hover itself.
Are you a beginner like me or already into 3D? I can PM you my DX7 settings for smooth, stable beginner's flight if you'd like.

Here are a couple of shots of my layout.

Cheers!

Tbosco. the manual was very easy to follow. yo assemble in exactly the order they tell you do to so.
they go into full breakdown as you WILL crash this bird and have to tear it down to nothing. so the full breakdown is there so you can use it to put it back together.

and ARF or not you should have pulled every piece apart to reapply locktite and to ensure proper assembly.

do NOT trust some Asian worker to get your heli correct.
This goes for any heli you buy not just Align.

That's a good point. I did find that one or two of the ball link screws in the head didn't have loctite on them. It's good to check them all.

Don't know what everyone's complaints with the stock motor and servos is about. Mines bone stock and has more power then any other 450 I've flown. I'm no Szabo but can push a heli pretty hard and it can do everything my 600 or 500 can do with ease. As far as the powerplant I'm running 25C outrage packs and the're comming down warm but not hot, even after continous tic tocs and rainbows.

It's actually been really nice to actually get a heli that you just put together and go beat the hell out of it. No mods or aftermarket parts to get it to fly good.

Agreed
Helibird- I totally agree with you. The stock equipment seems to deliver excellent performance right out of the box.
