Hi

Can any one answer my question on the above radio.

I am thinking of buying the JR radio from abroad because of the price difference but I have been hearing that these sets do not have the CE sticker on them .
I have contacted a few companies and they are saying they have sold hundreds to the UK and have never had any problems.

Does this make any difference for use in the UK ??

I would be grateful on your views on this.

cheers

steve

Simple.... are you a member of the BMFA ? Do you fly with an affiliated BMFA club ?

If the answer is yes, then if you bought it, the chances are that you will not be allowed to use it.

The overseas sourced systems do not meet the EU spec. If it has a small stick on CE round label, then it is illegally marked and hasn't been built to the EU spec by JR.

Oh and the other thing.... should anything go wrong with it, You have to send it back to were you bought it from as the warranty is not international and the UK Distributor will not want to know.

My DSX9 is an AU/NZ spec model and it does not have the CE sticker on it. I agree with the guys, get one local. You would hate for it to either a) not be allowed, b) void your insurance or c) not be locally warranted.

Yes, it is a racket and yes you get screwed on everything in the UK but you choose to stay there so I would bite the bullet and pay the price.

No, get it in UK. Not allowed and you would be causing problems for the rest of us.

I wouldn't feel comfortable flying my UK spec DX7 if someone was flying a overpowered one at the same time.

So, the power output is different so it's not allowed.

If that doesn't put you off then if you get caught doing so you will be met with some heavy fines.
