Hello guys,

Has anyone modified their Trex 700N heads to FBL ? if so, how ? please provide any info.

I know there are ready FBL heads for it, and also conversion kits, but i'd like to do it on my own and i have access to some CNC machines.

thanks.

For 90 USD you can get the Mikado upgrade that uses the Align Grips and Head block...

If you have access to cnc then you should definitely make your own extensions. I would suggest copying the style of the Mikado or Heli-cris extensions but go one step further and lengthen them some more. The 700 is at a bit of a disadvantage because of the very large diameter inner swash ring and the high ratio bell cranks. Before I switched to the heli-cris mod I had made my own out of carbon fiber plate with a ball to center distance of 38mm. Being wider than the heli-cris made servo setup and swash mix alot better. I bet you could go to a little bigger yet and be able to retain using the stock spacing on the servo wheels...it would make your servos very happy and do wonders for resolution and eliminating slop It would require a little geometry/trig to work out but it would be worth it.
