Hi guys,

Installed my Spartan DS760 today, great gyro just a few questions.

The acceleration value, what exactly does this do? I lowered it down quite a bit and the tail felt a little spongy (but ok). The reason why I lowered it was to remove the stress from the belt, if I do a fast left piro into a fast right piro the belt slips a lot, and it's already quite tight (don't really want to make any tighter).

My last gyro didn't have this problem as there was a pause between them. I don't really want a pause but just a slightly slower acceleration back into the other direction.

And my other question is the servo speed setting. What does this do exactly also?

My JR 3500G servo is rated for 0.07 sec at 4.8V. I'm running at regulated 6V. I have it set to 0.06. Should I try a lower value such as 0.05?

It says "If you run your servo at a higher voltage you may wish to adjust this parameter accordingly."

That's all for now .

Thanks!

Laurence

In the setup program, if you hover the mouse over a setting it will pop up a help box that explains what it is.

The acceleration value is how fast the tail will accelerate to you stick position when you move it. For example: if you go full rudder stick with a low acceleration value the tail will go to full throw slower that with a fast acceleration profile. Opposite with a fast acceleration profile. Same with deceleration...

Setting the servo type and speed allows the gyro to tailor its signals to the servo to match the servo type or speed. You should run this at the servo's rated speed at 6V if you are running 6v.

Nick
If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter

Hi yes, I should have redone my question, I was just wondering if acceleration changed anything else (such as time between piros, I didn't notice a difference but wanted to know for sure).

JR doesn't give a 6V rating, even though it's fine at regulated 6.0v. I didn't know if I should use 0.05 or 0.06. In fact I don't even though what difference it makes!
