SOLO FLIGHT EXAMINE
Heads up: All provisional members are required to pass a solo test, conducted by the heli safety officer or flight leader, to fly alone on the flight line. We have been behind on testing and need to get this done. The test is to demonstrate that the pilot can "control" the helicopter at various orientations. The test can consist of but not limited to the following manuvers:

1)10 foot hover(maintained for 30-45 seconds)

2)figure 8 circuit (maintained altitude including left and right approach)

3)any other manuver deemed neccasary by The helicopter safety officer or helicopter flight leader conducting the test.

most of you have already passed,so it will simply be a signature
I will be available this coming weekend.

***if you're not ready to test you will be required to have a member on the flight line with you for every flight.***

Relax guys my post on the conversation was to notify you that we are still giving things a chance. Based on conversation I heard Sunday it seemed that the Heli pilots thought we were shut down hard on flying the small fixed wing planes some of us have tossed in the trunk of our vehicle. I was just trying to ensure that we all can have the fun that we go to the field for. Jim and Bob are still giving us the opportunity to fly our small fixed wing aircraft as long as we follow the guidelines.

I think we are all in agreement between ourselves that if one of us had a fixed wing aircraft in then air and a Heli pilot was ready to go airborne that we would give that air time to the Heli pilot.

Honestly I think this too trivial of a subject to jeopardize the Heli flying that we currently enjoy.

The subject of the matter has been thrown way off , I was flying today and yesterday and planes came directly over the heli pad and one over parking lot and portajohn, Our warning horn dose not hold a pump and lets out a wimpy blast at 125 psi, The plane guys just need to judge their distance better , no big deal, we know its not intensional, wee just have to let them know almost as soon as it happens, so they know. Maybe remote control shock collar's. Today was a great flying day, no wind, I did my first tic toc on the 700 and survived and Als Logo looked and sounded awesome doing rainbows

In regards to the horn I was able to pump it up with a full charge of air yesterday. The pump is kind of backwards to a normal pump where the lever needs to be flipped up to hold itself onto the schrader valve. When tested they can hear it on the plane side. Paying attention to it is another matter. Plane over fly's will always be an issue as it is hard to judge from their side where exactly in the air the buffer zone exists. So it is up to us to keep them honest when we are flying.
Maybe some scale apache heli's to protect the airspace.

you know in all fairness we should limit the plank flight to electric not by wingspan, I have a mini funtana x and I think the wingspan is more than 40", none the less it is a small plane and if we can fly planks I'd like to try it at the heli field.

Seeing as I'm fat, bald, stooopid and a smoker I'd prefer to do as little walking as possible

I'm going to meeting - I'll be on Bob Greenberg time.

If they made our side a "heli specific" area for our purposes then we should respect that. If the club as a whole wants to limit size and power on our side, we should be respectful but push for the wingspan of the average park flyer, otherwise, go to the plane side to fly the planes. From what I understand from others, we have it pretty good. Why ruin it by something that should be self explanatory. Remember this all came about because we were being flown over. That's a safety issue, the rest is all playground politics.

"you can't play in my sandbox" is usually what starts the trouble

I'll be at the meeting...but don't worry I'm bringing a roll of duct tape to cover my mouth in case I feel like I need to say something

I am on the same page as Scott.
I am sure the flight leader and safety officer on the plane side are getting flack when we have a foamie or striker in the air. I just wanted to get an agreed upon wing span to cover what some of us allready own and fly. Lets not push to hard or it may backfire. Do not lose site that even though we fly at 2 seperate fields we still are one club or should try to be. Having the 2 seperate fields is a Godsend for air time and safety reasons.
Remember the good things: 2 new tents, Porta John, expanded gravel parking area and BBQ.
