Am at field now, beautiful day for flying. Plane side is as busy as our side was yesterday. Spending time with wife today so my rotor blades remain intact.
Had some good conversation with Bob and Jim. Will post details later.
Have a great day.

benny wins the prize. i will post more details when i have a full size keyboard to type on.
no you do not need to find another field unless this one is to far out of your way. I think we are on the right path to make it a good place to fly.

Had a good conversation with Bob Greenberg and Jim Nelson about the flying of Fixed Wing Aircraft on the Heli side of the field. We have agreed to try the following:

Fixed wing Aircraft are to be of foam style construction No greater than 36" wing span ( will bring up wingspan at meeting as most parkzone aircraft are about 38" wingspan size)

Fixed Wing Aircraft can only be electric powered no IC engines.

Mutual air space is to be respected. No flying north of the pipes sticking up that indicate the buffer zone.

Tree line is to be respected as well, especially on the west side as it is residential.

I think we can all make this work. Please if you see someone that does not follow RR or attend meetings, going to fly a fixed wing aircraft on the heli side that falls outside these requirements. Remind them of the regulations. As members or prospective members it is our duty to make sure we follow the guidelines for our safety and others.

Most important, forgot to mention all radio equipment for the heli side needs to be 2.4Ghz no exceptions. I think most all of us have that covered.

Thank You

On foam airplanes, it is easy to chop off 1" on wingtips to go from 38 to 36.

The further you are from the airplane side, thee more like 36" it will appear.

does this mean the Plankers can come and fly on our side and congest our air space?? I don't like it. Does this mean they are going to limit the size heli we can fly on their side?? I like being away from the plankers, I'm not saying I want to eliminate cohesion from the the club but...when helis and planes start flying together...

Think we need more details before this becomes a rule -- just a thought

I wouldn't worry about that the reason we are on that side is so we rotary pilots can get ample airtime and not bump heads with the fixed wing pilots. Truth is if you want to fly airplanes then fly on the side that was designed for it! Safety always comes first the Heli side does not have a proper runway for it and that may be the reason Bob said something in the first place. This isn't a local park where we have to do what ever it takes to do things, this is a Sanctioned Ama field with a proper setup for both fixed wing and rotary pilots let's enjoy what we have, in this day and age all it takes is one bad thing to happen and it could all be gone.

The airplane guys rarely come to the heli side to fly, I think I only seen it once, that a guy came and nobody was in the plane side and he wanted to get a few flights in.
This rule benefits those of us that want to get a couple a plane flights once in a while, but never interrupting heli time.

Relax...This not about sharing the helicopter flight lines with fixed wing. Some of us have "small" foamie's like the strykers. These are fun type planes that you throw up in the air and have a ball.you won't be flying these in a precribed pattern or very far because of their size.

There has been several times in past years when I'm at the field with three or four guys on our side and there's only one guy on the other side waitnig for someone to show up to fly I have gone over there so they can get their time in also and I flew there also. That's what a club is all about, looking out for each other regardless what the need may be.
