Ed, you've probably seen this but in case you haven't...

Watch at YouTube

Now, I don't have dimensions to run any calculations but, as an engineer, I see things that are worrisome. Just in case you're still considering a change.

Are you building high tech electronic toys for the adult film industry?
Hey Benny,
This is making me think. As you probably know, devices for sexual pleasure are not patentable by the USPTO. Think about all the legal fees you'll save.
Pretty cool fringe benefits too...I would imagine.

Yeah BobOD I have seen it, thanks for the heads up just the same. I guess the issues will start to show as the regular masses start to build them and fly.

In case you have not seen it here is SAB's response.
Attention Goblin owners! We recently had a customer crash due to a boom strike, the crash was due to insufficient preload of the dampers in the head and the main blades not being tightened on the blade grips! Please remember that for hard 3D flight, it is very important to insert the two extra shims (HC-232-S) on the head (this is stated in the manual). These shims increase the damper preload therefore increasing head rigidity. Please make sure your main blades are tight on the grips, you should be able to violently jerk the head in both directions and the blades should not fold. Failure to tighten the blades properly and/or run incorrect dampening preload can result in a boom strike.
Not to defend the incident but I saw Sauls rebuilt raptor take itself apart in mid air by a similar boom strike.

I will have to read through the compass posts to see if they suffer from boom strike itus since they have a similar design.

I know we do not know what happened...hard to say. BUT, I'm more pointing to the attachment of the levers to the grip. The pic here really shows how it's done and it is quite....well...I thought worthy of the warning.
Just in case the boom strike was the result rather than the cause.
Stiffer dampers will delay the inevitable if it's fatigue you're dealing with.

Still, I would not blame you to stick with it. It is a cool heli. The boom stands out from all others and is pretty neat. Any little issues always have solutions so...

Hey Bob, how big is your snake?

Hey Scott, we got a position for you too. We'll want to make sure the test subjects have pretty smiles right?

backwards flight..just trying to fly away, stop, turn around and then back to me. Inverted..just flipping it over and trying to hold a hover. I cannot hold a hover right side up on the sim, so I don't even know why I think I will be able to do it upside down. I can hover well in all orientations (right side up) at the field. Getting bored with just puttering around in FFF doing loops, rolls and stall turns.Compass 7HV, Trex 550E

@Scott1115

This helped me a ton. If you can get your hands on copy of Realflight, I sold mine and wish I hadn't just for this feature. The colored heli is your target and you have to try to match it by hovering right over the top of it, many many levels (20 something I think) and many orientations.

Scott I assume you are on Phoenix.
If so what version?
What model are you flying?
Have you edited any of the models default settings?

@ Steve,
The Heli orientation on real flight is one of my favorites.

What I do some times with RF6 is switch on the expo which helps me control the model better. I find myself over correcting.
Which sim are you using?
