Hi there, this will be my next electric heli(It´s on his way), my current helis are Predator Gasser, Kyosho C5 and Century Hawk Pro, I saw this helis and that was love at first sight, the thing is I have no idea about electric stuff, I´ve been reading a lot and the first impression is the the ESC and Bec are not reliable...???? What are your recommedetations( No Donald Trump budget).

Any suggestions will be appreciated

Regards,
Gustavo

everyone I know with the Align stock 75 amp esc`s have had no probs in 2 years of flying, I think theres about 7 Trex`s between us all, my first 75 amp Align did smoke up after about a year, I replaced it with a CC85hv which lasted about 5 flights, had another new cc85 hv sent out that lasted about 2 minutes into its first flight before I had to auto in. Put in another Align 75 amp and flew for a couple of months with no issues, had to change to the ALign 100 amp because I put in a Scorpion motor in, the Align 100 amp has been going strong for a good 3 months so far.(never gets warm, then neither did my 75 amp)

I have the same bec that came with the kit as do all my flying buddies and never had any issues with them either.

Thats just my experience though.

The only thing that worry`s me is how hot Align motors get, it cant be good, Im no electric guru but I bet half the time you here about Align ESC`s catching fire its more likely it was the motors fault, I wouldnt use the align motor for too long knowing what I know now, the Scorpion doesent even get warm at all, which tells me theres something not right with Align motors getting so hot like they do.
Even with that being said all my flying buddies are still flying with there stock Align motors, its just now they all want Scorpions after seeing how my one flys.

1. Go with 8s LiPo (6s is ok if you are just learning 3D, 8s best for advanced 3D).
2. Get a Scorpion motor. HK4025-1100 for 6s, HK4025-890 for 8s.
3. Get a CC HV85 ESC, Castle Link, and upgrade to the latest software.
4. Go with a Western Robotics BEC and dump the separate receiver battery.

I have ran the stock Align electronics for six months with absolutely zero problems. I run 6 cell Outrage batteries. I think it is hit and miss on the Align electronics. I would try them first before unloading a ton of money on new electronics.

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!
