Yep the Protos and Cellpro will have to live on in the Knight. Doug it currently has a off brand 80A HV esc. I will be running a pair of 4s 5000 packs in series. I just got it yesterday and don't have the batteries yet, so haven't flown it yet. I also don't have any proper blades, so I will just run some 550s for now until I buy some.

Everybody points to the cosflaws but they are out of stock and have been for a while now. I will likely go with the Mavrikk G5 Wide Cords or maybe I will try some cheaper ones, haven't really decided yet.

Actually the Knight 600e originally came with a purple motor. The current ones are coming with the military drab green/gray.

Ok guys here is my new beast of a heli. Don't mind the crappy blades, there will be proper 600s on there soon enough.

Maiden went well. I have no idea what the head speed is but it is pretty high even at 65% throttle. I need to do some more setup with it once I get a pitch gauge big enough to actually fit over those blades

cool chopper. I love the blades.
What gyro is that? 401 w/ a custom label?
Do the batteries heat up right next to each other like that?

Ah man see now I hate the blades. Yeah they look cool on the bench but in the air they are useless! I am planning to pick up a set proper 600s very soon.

I lost the tin cover/label on my 401 when it was on the Raptor. I have no idea where it went but it probably had something to do with the oil all over everything. Anyhow I searched the whole flying area for it but never found it. So I made my own. It is just a piece of paper with the stuff marked on it and then packing taped on there. Yeah ghetto but it works fine.

The packs heat up from the inside and they are so big that there is no way to cool them, so it doesn't matter how/where they are mounted. Think of them as a single pack.

What would you like to hear for a flight report? How about this?

I flew 2 flights at 6min each. The first pack was the maiden and was mostly a test and tune pack. Initially the throttle was a bit high at 75%. I backed all the swash settings way down to start with and it turned out that the pitch was WAY to low but the elevator and aileron was WAY fast. After a few more changes it was flying ok, touchy but ok. Next I flipped over to idle-up and played with the collective. It seems like there is a dead space between positive and negative pitch. I increased the pitch some more and it felt better. So I took it up 50ft and flipped it over and the rolled it. The cyclic was still WAY fast but manageable. I spent the second pack flipping it, rolling it and flying around. What came out of that was the fact that I need to get the swash more level and I need to figure out what my pitches are. I also found out that the motor is a beast. No matter what I did, I could not get the motor to bog or slow in any way. The 6min flights used 2250mAh and 2625mAh each of the 8s 5000 packs. Those are very good numbers but the packs did come down fairly warm. The average amp draw for the second flight works out to 25A.

Any questions?
