It is not every 31-year-old who, in a first government job, finds himself dismantling General Motors and rewriting the rules of American capitalism.

But that, in short, is the job description for Brian Deese, a not-quite graduate of Yale Law School who had never set foot in an automotive assembly plant until he took on his nearly unseen role in remaking the American automotive industry.

Why Not just hire a manager from Burger King

Kind of like having a "community organizer" run the country? Nope, this kid is probably brighter and more accomplished, but he is working for the annointed one. Let's see how well GM fares. I can hear it now, "these things take time" as a response to failure.

keepin' it real

You had my attention at "31-Year-Old in Charge of Dismantling G.M."

After reading the article and doing a little more research on Deese, I want to puke! Just what we need, another Poindexter with ZERO experience, running huge portions of the economy...

They have no interest in running GM. The goal is to keep the UAW happy until the next election. They will keep kicking in our money until that day. Their bet is that they can keep it going a few years. I seriously doubt it. Either way, then it will go into a real bankruptcy like it should have. The goal is vote buying and nothing else.

Yeah, he has automotive experience. The article quoted him saying :
I slept in the parking lot of the G. M. plant in Lordstown, Ohio,
Gee, that's got to count for something.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

This would all be hilarious if I wasn't paying for it.

The upside is everyone made fun of the Obama supporters saying Obama was going to get them a free car. They were partially right...

Well we've all seen what the experienced guy's and gal's can do. Maybe just maybe we need some folks that haven't been brought yet

To late to change things now.

So, it might be interesting to see what kind of car the government comes up with and the kind of car the UAW knows will sell.

Chinese Hummer anyone?

What a shame... The Chinese are going to be driving "gas guzzling SUV's", and we'll be driving Fiats and riding bicycles.

Remember when Obama said ""We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK. That's not leadership. That's not going to happen."

He's going to make sure of that. I can't really say what I think of him. That might land me in prison.

Not as long as the Dems have control of 2 branches of our government (Executive & Legislative).

And, as long as they do have that control, they will make it very difficult and time consuming for the next administration to change it. In fact, if the government has control of GM for a number of years, they will reward the UAW more than they have now and give them back everything they may have lost, at our continuing expense of course.

Spread The Wealth Baby.
