3 weeks for no flying for various reasons/short on parts and weather etc. Yesterday wasn't a good day to for tune up because of gusty winds but I flew any way and it was weird, I didn't have controls of the heli like I used to.

Today it was calm, took me about 3 batteries to get close to the way I used to fly it but still not feeling as comfortable as before.

Tomorrow will be windy again and after that rain.

It will come back Zaw, your just a little rusty. It was VERY windy this past weekend in Mass. and NH., certainly makes it more challenging.

I know the feeling. I haven't flown as much the way I used too. For those missed days, I compensate by using the sim.

it's the same here where I live. we have a lot of wind so I can't learn to hover very much. and it kind of sucks, cause I know that the more I can fly the heli the quicker I will catch on and be able to hover and fly it. but it is what it is I guess.

It can be very painful to have worked so hard to aquire a skill, only to have it almost completely dissappear after taking a break from flying. Doug's right, it will come back, but won't take nearly as long as it did to learn it the first time. Keep at it and eventually it will never leave you.

I have a few heli moves that are always with me. Tail-in, side-in hovering forward flight and figure 8s. I can do those confidently, regardless of how long of a break I take. But took many flight hours to get there. For the rest of the stuff, I'm still putting my time in, flight after flight, day after day, every chance I get.

I find my skill don't go anywhere, my confidence does, and in many ways confidence is harder to acquire,.

So true. Skill is cheap. I can get that on the sim for next to nothing. Confidence, now that costs hundreds of dollars and takes years to aquire.

Today I can move it around like I used to. Especially where I flew today have 2ft tall grass to cushion my crash.
