I have noticed when i have looked at other full size Hughes 500 and different makes as good as the painter tries to be, i always find a little orange peel. So hank79 has made a very good point, and just the same the full size G- Jive has a little orange peel but thats ok because nothing is perfect and it's still a beautifully painted machine.

Just keep focussed on your build, and keep adding photo's it gives a lot of people ideas, myself included on how to approach things, and when you make a mistake and post the good and bad we all can learn from it.
I hope this year you get to see it hover in all its glory.. all the best to you and the family

In my book there are only 2 experts in this forum and we all know and love them, and their birds.
I got asked who the two 'experts' were so here you go:-

Peter Wales and Len Mount.

And these guys will deny it saying that they are still learning!

Aren't we all still learning?

Hi MattJen ,

Some people, judge way too fast because of their age, and there set in their ways" They May think there better. They get disappointment in you when they give you, advice and you don’t take it. They don’t respect your own opinon, about your feeling's about an issue, While they don’t even know the facts!

I am very happy with these blades once i get the mechanics in the air i will post a video and i will have some comments for those that think you must only have turbines, or electrics, for these types of birds multi rotor head . I have proof that's a bunch of bunk. I completely disagree gas, helicopters can run very smooth and be well tuned and stable not shack, anymore then a turbine, or an electric, it's the set up that make's the difference and the quality, of the whole system. Soon i will i will have proof before i post my comments

once im done i will paint the blades BLACK with ORANGE tips just like the real one.

I have a personal friend that has a very good reputation for being a judge in replication of scale work. The true definition of a scale model:

Many scales are built to be scaled down models of their full-size versions, such as 1:10 (1/10th) or 1:8 (1/8th) and 1:6 ( 1/6th) scale. mine is a (1:4th.5 ) scale . They may not be true to the look’s and performance, capabilities of the full-size version. A scale model is typically about Authenticity and realism. The scale model attempts to replicate the full-size version in as many aspects as possible from the realistic paint job and detailing.

This means if your rivet, work is not perfect or your paint color, graphics, are a little off , clear coat is not perfect, cockpit is not the same, but an attempt is made, blade’s may not be exact, it is still considered as a scale, if you try to create a since of Realism, of the whole perspective, of the real thing you then have done a great job! This is for the beginner, all the way to the advance scale builder, no one makes them perfect but we try.

I’m sure we all know that we All are sharing are build’s as a privilege to the public, on this forum, in helping out others. Giving idea’s and most of all to get idea’s our self’s from other’s when in need of help! Which myself is grateful, of many that have done this.
From this point on Anyone that want's to make negative, comments on this thread may do so Fire away you have none of my respect, and other's will not either, you will be egnored . I think also a man should never Judge, another man! No one likes to be judged when you don’t know any fact’s about that person. Were they come from, what they have done in life, Were they have been, I think Patience, is a important fact of life.

I see so many people that look at this site but very few take the time to ask questions or to make any type of comment or just to say hi. I will be counting and waiting to see how many people, that are really interested in seeing this bird take flight, because i have received pm’s from some people that i have found inappropriate sayings of my build, and about whom I am as a person, when they don’t even know me,I find them very jelious .I have never come across so many nasty people, on this thread forum. Gosh where are the polite people. When I find out how many people, really are interested in seeing this bird, completed and having some flight pictures. If there’s a lot I will complete it very soon! Otherwise I will be taking my time and who knows how long that will be.

The green eyed monster that lurks in some people is only too ready to come to the fore to criticize and demean the efforts of others that they cannot replicate themselves.

James,

you are deriving so much pleasure from your build and you have taken the time to keep us all informed as to the progress and to ask the opinions of others in the construction as you progress. There are more supporters of this project than there are of background critics so ignore them, they will go away or soon get bored.
As for the PMs, forward offensive ones to RR and let them deal with them.

Remember:- Opinions are like A$$holes, everyone has one and some of them stink.
