Very interesting feedback thanks Funky.
So, more power on -8 even on 11T... The main thing which make interest for me is motor/rotor bog. How -8 and -10 do they compare in this aspect? I use Zippy Flightmax which are great and powerful, but can't rivalize with top brands. So I'm searching for a more bogless setup, and -8 is perhaps a solution. That being said, I'm forced to work on my collective management and it's a great improvement for me. Same thing with my Trex250. It seems that have less powerful setup helps to learn how to manage overall power better. I'm more smooth on my sticks and use each pop more where it must be.

The -10 had a little better power, but I am sure part of that is the headspeed difference. I had the -10 running on 14 tooth at 100% so headspeed was around 3400. On the -8 with 11 tooth, it is turning a bit slower. They both have rediculous power so it is a great setup either way. I just prefer the -8 with a slightly lower speed since my lipos stay cooler and flight times are a bit longer and there is still TONS of power.

None of them are bogless... I can bog them all with some bad collective management

I also use the 8 on 11t and it will not bog.

Like I wrote above I fully realize what is collective management now. My Trex250 was really helpful for this. I really like this feeling, and use each pop like a ball in a ping pong game : )
So I think now my -10 is certainly nice enough for me.
Thanks you and good flights : )

I haven't tried it on 12 tooth, but I have heard that is the "hot" setup for the -8 on 4S. It has great power on 11t so 12t must be rediculous!!

i run 12t on -8 and 4s. I run my idle 1 curve at flat 75% throttle though and spend most of my flying in idle 1. Idle 2 I have at flat 100% and it's ballistic and unboggable but so touch to fly. Also on idle 1 my batteries barely even get warm to touch and it flys great on zippy batteries.

8 vs 10
It makes sence that the 8 has more performance. The internal resistance is significantly lower. It is a bit less efficient overall due to the higher no load current but for the lenght of flight and the high power application the heating losses pervail and the 8 should have better performance overall for hard 3D on 4s. I would just think it might not last as long due to the higher RPMs. Just need to keep an eye on the bearings.
