SK360 working overtime in the wind!
I flew today in ridiculous winds. It was not much fun but it was interesting seeing the SK360 do its thing.

For the most part I forget that it's there, but today you could clearly see it working in the strong winds. FF into the wind I would lean her in then leave the cyclic centered and just manage the collective. Man I tell you that thing would be pushed all over the place up and down real wild. However she would hold her attitude and keep trucking.

On landings it was easiest to get about 18" off the ground and make the skids parallel with the ground. Then let the Skookum worry about attitude while I managed pitch. Even with Skookums help the landings were dicey.

Anyways the wind sucked but it was interesting seeing what the SK360 does in high wind.

Later,
Mike

I was also flying yesterday in the high winds with my SK360 equipped Raptor E620. I agree the SK360 sure makes it much easier to fly in the wind. I have also noticed that it takes more power to fly on windy days. Large helicopters with a good flybarless system are definitely all weather flyers.
