10 points to Mark for knowing who Hanno Prettner was...

Seeing as how that's probably a 20 year old motor at best, it's not going to be worth much unless you find a collector who wants it. Of course someone just looking for a nice 61 plank motor may offer you some useful dollars for it.

Ive known of these Hanno specials to have changed hands for £250 (sterling)complete with the red tuned pipe and certificate in the box in unrun condition. They wernt that special of an engine in my eyes just a pumped rear exhaust OS 61 long stroke with a red head and matching red tuned pipe made by Hatori but they were a good engine. It depends who wants it and how badly they want it as well as how much they are willing to pay for it. An odd one turns up on ebay from time to time. I had a brand new one and im not really missing it, but lets just say i got more for it when i sold it second hand than i paid for it.

If it doesnt move and its meant too... use WD 40. If it moves and its not meant too...use duct tape!

The red headed OS 61 long stroke was a great engine. I'm sure a nostalgic collector would be interested.

I use to have an EZ SupraFly with the Hanno Special in it. Of course, like an idiot, I sold it...

But the good news is I still have two EZ SupraFly's with YS 61 long strokes that are still in mint condition...

I loved the Supra fly series so much, I even have 2 new in box SupraFly 25's. One is the EZ arf and the other is the rare Pilot brand wood kit.

Hi

I am not thinking.....

I actually want a Supra Star not the Supra Fly.

15 years doesn't help.

Man, I havent heard that name since the 80s. Hanno Prettner was a world class pattern plank pilot if my memory serves me correctly.

I heard he hurt his neck when he passed out doing pattern practice and stopped flying after that. The plane I remember of his was either the Magic or the Calypso. They were nice planes.

I seem to recal that Hanno Prettner had won the 'Tournament of Champions' competition so often that he wasn't invited to compete the following year !

I had one, flew pattern for years. The sweetest running 60 I ever had. Wish I never sold it. I was in Smithfield NC at a pattern meet one year, it was breezy out as well. In the ready box preparing for my flight I turned all my radio gear on, connected the glow, a breeze kicked up turning the prop and it fired right up! Never touched it. The good ole days. Won my class that day too. Excellent piece of hardware. Just look at it and it would start....lmao!!

The OS .61 LS (pumped or not) was a good engine no matter what. Lots of power, always started with just one flip of the propeller. Never had to mess with the needles. I liked it better than YS.

If in new condition + original tuned pipe, around $400 on ebay.
