I'm using a spectrum DX7 with my Revmax. Wonering what kind of settings you all are setting your travel adj too and what that's equaling for headspeed. I set mine from 80 - 50 on the + side and same few higher or lower on - side of travel adj and it doesn't seem to matter. I've calibrated over and over thinking this was it but I think it's this travel number and my lack of understanding Thanks for the tips.

Put the gain on the AUX channel, set the TX to Aux to Aux, set the gain on one side of the switch to 0 and the other side to 70, flatline the throttle in Flight mode 2 at 100% and when you engage FM2 the RM will take over. If you want to make sure the RM is really working, just set the AUX gain to around 60% and when you flip into FM2 you will most likely hear the headspeed drop. If the HS doesn't, the RM isn't working correctly.

I'll give that a try. Flight mode 2 currently moves the selector from one side to the other for the aux2 in travel adjust. Maybe not having the one end on 0 messes with it? I'll recalibrate again as well to ensure that's not it with the new numbers. Thanks for your help

No no no no, dont flatline your idle up throttle curve with 100% all the way across LOL, you'd be askin for it. What happens if that gov fails or shuts off? Your gonna blow that head apart. Your supposed to use linear curves just like you would without the governer.

Who told you that? We've been running the RevMax like this since it came out. Even a 100% throttle won't kill the head unless it is at 0 pitch so even a failure won't mean certain doom.

Fine then but this is the way to run the RM regardless of what you may think.

Sorry RaptorMan23, TMoore is correct. Most people who use the revmax do use 100% on all points in IDLE UP mode only. I happen to know the owner of Model Avionics quite well, and this is how it should be set up for best performance. For normal mode simply use a linear throttle curve. The revmax is designed to be used with an Exagerated throttle curve (yes even 100% on all points) and simply limits the throttle just enough to prevent overspeeding.

Sorry I didnt know that, in my manual it says use your regular curves for backup in case the governer fails

Flipping the F-Mode back to "N" or "Hold" is just that backup "regular curve".

Well I'm in a holding pattern for testing this. Pulled the rubber out of the fuel tank to check the clunk to see if that was causing my inconsisten RPM's and the rubber was wearing out to the point it kinda crumbled going back in. Needless to say I need a new tank - will be here wednesday now and hopefully next weekend we'll see if this worked.

It's always good to know whose vast experience and many years of sound advice you've chosen to criticize before putting your foot in your mouth.
