Outhouse - what gyro/servo are you running? My tail started glitching after I installed the 8. Only happens when I get above 3/4 throttle. Stock Align ESC.

What heli is this new ESC going to be installed on? are you going to run 6S batteries? Do you have a separate BEC? or are you going to run one?
This will help us help you to choose a new ESC.

Running 3S on a Trex 450 SE. Power to the receiver is through the ESC. Another RR member sent a PM suggesting raising my throttle end points. I'll try that first.

That will be the Jazz40 but seriously, you can't go wrong with the other brands such as Castle, Scorpion, TP40 just to name a few. Some are even having good luck with the Align esc. Depends on what you can afford. The -6 I think pertains to 2221-6 which is a hotter wind version of the Scorpion motor for 3S bat or if you really mean 6-cell then 6S lipo.

If you are using all digital servos on cyclic and tail, you might want to use a separate Bec. The 2221-8 eats a lot of juice and most likely can not handle the motor load and Bec at the same time.

Get the Scorpion or Miniature (same ESC) 60 amp one and you'll never look back.

I'm using the TP40 ESC after having used the Scorpion 60A and WOW what a boost in power from the Scorpion and much lighter too.

If you have not tried one you're missing out on extra power and a very low heat build up in the ESC. My Scorpion used to get so hot you could not hold you finger on it for more than a second before I'm sure it would burn you. The TP40 doesn't even get warm running 3380 head speed.

That doesn't sound right. I started with the Scorpion 45(airplane controller, that's all Scorpion had at the time) and had serious heat issues. Switched to the new 60 amp heli ESC and no more heat issues, picked up about 200 RPM on the head.

Might not be what you would expect (I sure didn't).

But, if you're into the Scorpion 60A ESC's, I'll make you a great deal on mine!
