Man , I hate that you are going to sell your Bat.
I have been flying mine every day and I am very happy with it. No matter what gasser you get , I think you will have pretty much the same problems .. I have been reading in the other gasser sections and they all have issues. It seems like gassers are elaborate ongoing projects . Not just a simple build and fly it type deal..
I think if you do a gas conversion you are realy going to have an elaborate project on your hands.. That is a definate "re-engineer" thing... Good luck smallplanes

SORRY TO HEAR IT.
Sorry it is not the machine.....No one else has these problems including my self & I fly 9 differnt of our machines all with the same designs...I FLY NEARLY EVERY DAY. I had a flame out on my 26CC yesterday...this is part of the hobby....not the machine.
FIXED THIS MORNING & just test flown...

If you decide to continue I would strongly suggest you contact shuttlepilot who live also in SC & will be more than happy to your machine checked out. He is a top mrchanics & has QWW Gasser machine experience for the past 4 years whit 40-500 flights on two of our gassers.

It is strange how every other machine in the market today uses the SAME brass sleeve & nut design that is nearly a 30 year old design used originally by KALT Helicopters & produced by TSK for Kalt before TSK makde there on helicopters. I USE RED LOCTITE...This is an important part to check before & after every flight by simply hand check the pitch plate.

The main shaft bolt broke due to the sudden stop of the drive train....I does not break by itself. ALL OUR SCREW MATERIAL IS 12.9 din

If you send me a list of the parts I will replace for you free...if you don't want the machine at least sell it in proper condition. Maybe some else will pay attention to details.

BUILT RIGHT FLY RIGHT
If you just tightened the pitch plate nut that is exactly why the nut came loose... The loctite bond was broken when you tightened it allowing for vibration loosen the nut...WHEN YOU LOOSEN A LOCTITED PART THERE IS ALWAYS A SNAP OR POP...THAT IS THE BOND RELEASING....
basic loctite 101....

First loctite then tighten...then check..if it becomes lose re-loctite it...basic loctite 102

There is no difference between a heli & plane motor other then the prop hub, pull start...We have sold many ZENOAH motors for our machines...even the 20 is a airplane motor & no one is complaining.
THERE IS NOT DIFFERENCE AS THE internal parts are the same.

HaNSON IS IN THE BUSINESS OF SELLING MODIFIED MOTORS...My 26cc EI has no vibration & more power than I can use. It is clear from all your posts that attention to details have been over looked many times. Just read back on your posts they speak for them selve. This could have been avoided by a PM & not telling every one what you think you know & not taking responsibility for your helicopter.
WE put the best parts & PROVEN design parts in out kits...

damm man Irwin did say a few things that you should have checked he doesn't know how much you know so he was just stating a fact is all and he did offer to GIVE you the PARTS AT NO COST to repair i dont know of any other manufacture that would do that. i have built a 20 cc gasser and it flies well yes it had a few small things you needed to work out other then that it wasn't bad to build and flies good, i also have 2 predators so i can say that gasses are great and arn't bad at all once sent up is done usually its grab and go so dont give up and i thing you will find out that IRWIN will help you out, just my 2 cents worth is all not ment to piss anybody off

I agree with ozace.

Just get rid of it and move on, you do not need the 5 pilots who fly them at this forum.

PS: There is no bashing of QWW in my post. Just advice.

Have a good day. Heh.

DS 8717.....or MR10X....typical answer from you. It's funny, the only time you post is when there is an "issue" with a QWW heli. Never anything to offer.......but what's new.. Must be a sad life......cruising RR waiting on a post in the QWW thread so you can "comment".

JA....there's a lot more folks flying these helis that whats on RR. If you buy into the illusion that ALL heli pilots comment on RR, then you are sadly mistaken. Most don't post because of DA comments like this one......
Just get rid of it and move on, you do not need the 5 pilots who fly them at this forum.
Smallplanes......I'll be glad to look at your heli and set it up and fly it.....Also, you have my number, so feel free to call me if you like, I don't think Irwin would have to make the contact for you. Since you and I have a mutual friend that flies.....he can attest that he has been witness to my 26 fly without issue many times....so the heli is a solid design.

A few more thoughts on this....and I will take it from the issues listed in the first post.

The nut on the brass sleeve has never been an issue for me on my gasser, but I did have it work loose on my Q30 that I had many years ago. I used red loctite and a heat gun and never had another issue with it. It is one of my high points on my preflight checklist.

The pins that hold the arms on the pitch change yoke are another thing that is high up on the preflight as well. Once again, never had an issue with them on my gasser, but on my Q46 I noticed one backing out. I took the yoke off, tapped the pin back in then I sat the yoke with one side of the ping on a piece of steel and took a pointed punch and punched the pin on each side. This flares out the ends of the pin and it will not leave the yoke then.....I gurantee you it will not come out of the yoke after that.

I have to agree with Irwin on the main gear bolt. The only way I could see it just breaking is if it had a sudden stop, or maybe a hard tail touch. I have never had one break on any of my Quicks....even after a crash. That's not saying that it won't or can't happen, but this is not something that is unique to a Quick heli. Just do a seach on "Jesus bolt" and you'll see what I mean.

As far as the engine goes..... With all due respect to Hanson and Toxic....... The EI engine may have not been designed with a heli in mind.....but that does not mean that it is "the wrong engine". I bet if you asked them to rework the engine to make it smoother they would definately take your money to do so.....whether it was the right engine or not for your application. There are others on here that are flying their EI 26's without excess vibration, and are happy. Personally, I prefer the magneto. Afterall, I bought a gasser for less hassle, not to add another battery pack to the setup for ignition. Yes the performance is better......but it would not benefit my flying ability anyway.

I do know this.....my gasser engine vibrated quite a bit initially. When I learned to tune it and after it got broken in, it smoothed out quite a bit. I'm not saying that you don't know how to tune.....I'm saying that I didn't when I got mine, because I had NEVER had anything that flew with a gas engine. It also took over 3 gallons to realize how smooth the engine could get.

Like I said earlier, just give me a call if you like. The heli is not a bad design, or machine by no means.

I have most of the bugs worked out of my Bat 26cc v2 . I can just grab it and go fly now. I still have not gone inverted yet, still a little scared ... Any day now I will get over the scaredness and start trying to fly it like my 500 size helis.
I am very impressed with my Bat 26cc heli. I`m charging my batteries right now to go fly .
Hang in there smallplanes. These gassers are nothing like the electrics or nitros. They need a lot more tweeking !!
Get shuttlepilot to help you get it going right. He has many hours on his QWW 26cc gasser..

I changed my mind i had a talk with Irwin and i'm going to give it another shot. Thanks for all those that said to change models but your not the ones that have a arm and leg in this heli. I put it back together toady and went to hover it in my back yard i sa the tail servo twitching and not matter how much i adjusted it it did not get any better so i cut it off and grabed the gyro and it was loose bearly stuck on so that why my tail was all over the place. I have gas leak around the gas stopper so i need to pull the tank and tighten up the plug, this time i'm going to wrap a strap around the gyro to make sure it does not come lose. The gas that got on the foam i think losened the gyro up and that probally had something to do with the tial going out of control but the plate was lose so i cleaned it with acetone and put red loctite on it so it should stay tight now. I'm going to get with shuttlpilot and he is going to help me get it flying like it is suppose to. I don't usually give up on anything so i have to get it to fly thats just how i am. Thanks for all the PM's and input from you QWW haters but i have to get it flying i have to much money in it to quit with it.

Thanks shuttlpilot and thank Irwin for helping me out again
