I just installed a castle creations phoenix in a Furion with an align motor, and when I bring the throttle all the way down to 0 the motor continues to turn slowly. I'm assuming I dont have something set quite right in the ESC programming, but I need advice on what I should change first. I have the simple governer mode enabled, and I have updated the firmware to the latest version.

Thanks

You need to set the throttle end points in the ESC. I believe all the Phoenix work the same. I also know there's a f-bob vid for the HV85 that goes through it.

or use the manual [url=http://www.castlecreations.com/support/documents/Phoenix_User_Guide.pdf]

I'm using the throttle governor mode not fixed end-points. I increased the throttle range from 100% to 125% in both directions and that took care of the problem.

regardless of governor or fixed mode, the ESC needs to know where the throttle stick top and bottom are - you basically set the radio based on the ESC rather than the other way round by adjusting the end points. Going through the set up will give you better resolution.

as long as it works, and you're happy, right?

Setting the low end is easy. Just turn the TX on, set the endpoint back to 50 for low stick. Then with the throttle at low, plug in the heli (it will not arm as the endpoint is not low enough), now that the heli is plugged in, slowly increase the low stick endpoint until the ESC arms. Once the ESC arms increase the endpoint by 5% more and the low endpoint has been set.

If you skip me I can't play!
