How is the yaw control compared to a 520, on the vbar?

Is it possible to use a 520 in place of the v unit?

for the tail? Vstabi is far superior to the single axis on the market, not sure why anyone would want to run a 520 or any other gyro for the tail......

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

Use a SK360 and the 520, don't waste the VBAR.

Main benefit of a 3-axis FBL system is that it knows where the tail is doing, giving it an clear edge over 2 axis system, specially in 3D flight, so to use the vbar without tailgyro is to go back one huge step.

With vbar 4.0 there is absolutely no need, (taken into account that Ulrich who made it had dual gyros on his machine, just to test all the time how the Vbar compared to the top gyros out there, vbar 4 beats them)

Vstabi
I agree. I would go with a 3 axis system rather than two.. All three "communicate" with each other.. thats why when you punch up, you will see the tail compensate because of the communication software..

I had a spartan... in fact.. my Vstabi tail is BETTER!! I didnt think it would be possible but it is..

And Gosh Darn It.. Im still using 3.6 and havent upgraded and probably wont.. I have my bird exactly where I want it to be.

I have to also agree that my vbar tail has felt better than any of the top end gyros i've owned or flown. That includes two spartans, 611, Mini G.

hi
my vbar gyro is the BEST gyro Ive ever spent my money on..

Holds better than Spartan

There is an "unique" feel to it.. and the great thing is, its adjustable

The possibilities for parametric changes are endless

Well Human213
Well Doc..

I have both, And i can tell you i like the Vbar Ailoron and Elevator,

Setup is extermly easy.

Now on tail, i have tried few of the guys at the field that i fly with, But i use the GY520 on the tail or Gy611. To me it just doesnt lock like the GY series.

The flying of the flybarless head with that gyro is great, The Tail to me is just not there.

Now please no attacks, i said its a great flybarless and multi head gyro

Oh hey Doc you need to come down and fly with us.

Peace thru knowledge and BEST PARTs and Yes Trubine.

IF you are going to run an external gyro, make absolutely sure you check tail settings just like if you where going to run the tail gyro.

Else you get "bad" cyclic performance just because your tail is wrong.

I flew external gyro before I sat down and really went over tail settings in the Vbar, in 3.16 it was a bit tricky, easy to give up, but in v4 it isnt.

with 3.16 I was tempted, more than once, to just slap my spartan on the bird and be over with the poor tail performance. I had more issues than my friend with a GY240. I know that most of it was related to setup but it was just too cumbersome to get the settings right. Only at the end did I manage to get my tail exactly like a wanted (after two months fiddling with the settings).

With V4 the tail feels much better and much more linear (it almost feels like a spartan). I had no problems in setting up the tail in less than 2 minutes. I might increase the stop gains as I like to have a snappy tail but thats about it.

Thanks gentleman...
My question was relating to the differential between the base gyros
and the v system...and the answeres were quite useful.

I will be using it on a new 3 blade machine.

best,

michael
