I've been assembling my new Pantera over the past few weeks and began working on the canopy. I have a couple of questions that I would like your opinions on. On my Tiger canopy, there is a cut-out on both sides which I'm sure helps the cooling but also allows us to get to the on-off switch. The Pantera canopy does not have those cut-outs. What is everyone doing? Are you just cutting a slot so you can get to the switch? Or are you removing the canopy to turn it on and off each time? Also, I'm switching to a Lipo battery and regulator which is much lighter than my Tiger where I'm using a 3300 mah NiMh. Should I leave the windscreen portion of the canopy alone which will add more weight to the front to compensate for the lighter battery or is everyone cutting that portion of the canopy out?

I just slide my finger behind the canopy and switch it on.

I meant to do that!!!

Bclong, did you cut out the windshield part of your canopy? You know, the white part of the canopy that is covered by the tinted windshield. I did not cut it out on my Tiger and was wondering if there is any advantage/disadvantage other than the weight. And I think I'll need more weight with the light 2cell Lipo that I'm going to use.

Yes I did cut out the plastic from the windscreen area. There is just enough room between the canopy and the frame to slide in and flip the switch. I used a 2S 3200mah lipo and it balanced out pretty good. Of course I also use a cf pushrod on the tail with no horizontal fin. I also shaved weight by changing to cf tailboom supports.

I meant to do that!!!

Thanks. I'll need to think about it. I have also gone to a CF pushrod for the tail. But I haven't taken off the horizontal fin yet.
