I have realflight 4. I upgraged it to 4.5 with the most current patch. I haven't been able to do multiplay since I upgraded to 4.5. That was the attracting for me. The error I get when I try to join a session is that is that I have a port erros and that its a sind of the router not being set up right, blah blah blah, port forwarding, blah blah blah. I'm plugged directly into the dsl modem. I've tried turning of the norton 360 and I get the same problem. Any help?

Would like to know as well. When I first got 4.5 it worked fine, then the new "beta" for multiplayer came out and since then I get same error. I do have a router but worked before so weird to just drop out and rolling back to older version isn't working either....

Some networking games like this require you to add the application to your Port Forwarding list in the router itself. You must log into the router's firmware and put it in. I have had to do this with my XBox360 nad many torrent apps. Google Port Forwarding for your router and see what comes up. It may be that with the newer version they tried to seal up some security holes in the previous versions and now you are required to set the port forwarding.

The new update works better for me. I have yet been kicked out after joining a session.

Besides forwarding the port ranges, you also need to enable upnp.

Yeah multiplayer went to hell with the release of 4.5, but the latest patch seems to be working a lot better for me anyway. It's possible that your DSL modem acts as a router as well.

I found that I can't connect no matter what if I don't have forwarded ports now, where as I used to be able to connect regardless. You must have some firewall blocking stuff.

I don't have a router. I am plugged directly into the dsl modem. Dsl modems have set ups like a router. I did check into the port forwarding on the router and found that all of the ports were open already. I did go in manually added the parts as it has multiple places on the list to add more ports to forward. This did not help me at all. I guess its time to call great planes again and ask for help one more time. If they can't help me, then I guess I will put it in a box and buy a different sim. I do play cod multiplayer and it doesn't have any problems connecting to a game.

Make sure your antivirus accepts it and also your firewall. This is the most common problem. I had this problem u ntil I turned off admin rights and manually configured my antivirus and firewall settings. Since then, no more problems. Running windows vista 64bit

I had upnp on. I had hosed the settings in my router was disconnected from the internet. I had to reset the modem to get back on. I'll play with it a little more before totally giving up.

Its a dsl modem, not a router. It has features like a router. I did do the port fowarding on it and several other things. I even tried to bridge it and crashed. The isp doesn't support bridging, so they won't help with that at all. Right now, I did get some multiplay. Its weird. I did all the portforwarding. I had the same problem. Then after I looked over all the settings I could find in the router, I decided to look for sessions again. It let me through this time and I found one session and am currently logged into it. It went from not working to working with no reason why. I will keep going back and forth jumping in and out of multiplay and see how long it keeps working.
