Where do i find the shims for my redline 53?
Hi everyone i have a redline that i think i need shims for the engine runs hot no matter how rich it is i can run it really rich and the temp runs @ 240 i bought this used and rebuilt it it seems to run fine just really hot i am running wildcat 30% i have been reading forums about the shims but i cant seem to find them anywhere where can i get them?

I believe the part numbers where listed by Dino in one of my posts. I have a .004 shim in mine right now and the hotest I have seen it is around 200 degrees. I'm running an Enya #3 and Cool Power 20% on an MP-5 pipe. Got the main needle just under 2.5 turns and the low needle about 1/8th turn richer than flush. Its been running fantastic during my last few flying sessions!

There are two shims available, a .004 and a .008 . I'd start with the .004, see how it runs and go from there. Replace it with the .008 if you need more. I'm sure this will help your situation.

Here is what Dino Spadaccini sent me regarding the shim part numbers and he also stated in the next posting that they are available through ACE

number PN0311 includes the shims for RL-53H (0.1mm, 0.2mm,and 0.4mm for each packet.)

at the moment these shims are not in stock at Ace but should be on order i will update when in Dino
